This stunning waterfront condo is blessed with the absolute best location in all of the Point Pleasant Resort. With its corner location and its huge wrap-around balcony, the condo provides a spectacular view of 13 additional Virgin Islands (8 are U.S. and 5 are British). Each seems more beautiful than the next (and only 4 are inhabited). See list below*

Simply stated, this unique and spacious 1BR condo delivers the best that Point Pleasant has to offer. The best location, the best view, the best layout, and easily the best ambiance -- all provided in a relaxed, low key and comfortable environment.
Situated at waterside, our superior unit enjoys an ideal corner location on the 3rd floor of a 4-level building (only 2 condos per floor). It's unique location is further enhanced by sliding glass doors that extend the full length of both exterior walls. These glass 'sliders' are seldom closed except in inclement weather, as they open onto large, fully covered patios. The result is an open and airy living space that is dominated by views you will remember for the rest of your life!
A full renovation/restoration of the condo was completed by new owners in 2010, and it is furnished in a tropical Asian style. The decor contributes to a relaxed environment of casual warmth and comfort. Nice as they may be, however, the tropical furnishings go almost unnoticed compared to the incredible views from both the East and North-facing balconies.
The East (Windward) view features the famed North Shore of St. John (seemingly closer than the actual 5 miles over water). Just a fractional turn of the head exposes the spectacular 'down island' view of Tortola and the beautiful British Virgin Islands. Alternatively, the view from our North-facing balcony displays the adjacent Pineapple Beach, with numerous sailboats at anchor in the multi-colored waters of beautiful Water Bay.
The Condo's corner location and wrap-around design will enable you to enjoy ocean breezes that enter on one side of the condo and exit on the other. Elegant, yet comfortable, outdoor furniture virtually assures that guests will gravitate to the covered patios as their favored living and dining areas.
Beyond their traditional role as cool and sunny lounging areas, these covered patios are an ideal place to experience the breathtaking daily vista of a Caribbean sunrise over water. Further, virtually any clear night will deliver the romantic spectacle of 'moonlight over water'.
Whether “dining out” on the patio, or simply relaxing with a favorite cocktail, the ever-changing panorama of ocean views will not cease to amaze you. With its unique glass enclosed design, its preferred waterside location and it's covered balconies - it's no surprise that this delightful condo has become the most sought after one-bedroom at Point Pleasant.
The Point Pleasant Resort itself features a full range of amenities and activities, not the least of which is one popular restaurant and its three beautiful pools - each sporting a world class view of its own (one is situated directly below the condo’s East balcony).
Excellent snorkeling is literally steps away at Sugar, Coki, Smith Bay Park and Pineapple beaches, with kayaking, wind surfing, day-sail charters, parasailing and jet skis all less than a five-minute walk away. In addition, Point Pleasant’s own scenic hiking trail weaves throughout the grounds.
Other major attractions in the immediate vicinity are St. Thomas’s renowned Coral World Underwater Marine Park (less than a half mile away), and scenic Magen's Bay - it's the largest beach on the island and is ranked as one of the ten most beautiful in the world (less than 15 minutes away).
* The 12 islands included in the breathtaking view from our East-facing balcony are (from left to right): Thatch Cay, Sandy Cay (BVI), Guana Island (BVI), Tortola (BVI), Grass Cay, Mingo Cay, Great Thatch (BVI), Congo Cay, Lovango Cay, Whistling Cay (BVI), St John, Ramgoat Cay and Henley Cay).
We are a semi-retired couple living in the Georgetown section of Washington, DC. St. Thomas has truly become our 'second home', and we enjoy spending time in either or both of our side-by-side condos here at the beautiful Point Pleasant Resort. Work permitting, we try to spend up to three months a year here (normally spread over 4 trips). We are happy to have you share either or both of our Condos, and we hope you will enjoy them, just as we do.
Most important during your stay is to simply relax and enjoy both our multi-faceted Island and our fantastic year-round weather. Whatever you choose to do with your time here, we strongly encourage you to dedicate at least one day to visiting nearby St. John. It is 3/4 National Park and is both stunningly beautiful and very well kept. At the same time, it is incredibly peaceful. We often tell friends who visit that 'Whatever drop in pace you experience in coming from your home to St. Thomas, you will experience an equivalent drop when you get off the ferry (either car or passenger), in St. John.
Our second major recommendation is that you spend a day on the water aboard one of the many day-sail charters that are available. All of them are sure to deliver both a relaxing day and a memorable experience. Our personal favorites are Coconut and Daydreamer, both of which are anchored just off the balcony. Fortunately, we are long time friends with the owners, and they never fail to provide a discount to our guests.
We hope you will enjoy your stay, and possibly come back to visit again. Please feel free to provide us feedback on your stay - either by making an entry in our guest book, talking to our Manager, Dionne, or by providing a review via VRBO. In any case, we hope you will truly enjoy both our Island and our home away from home.
Thank you for your consideration!
PS: Our photo was taken three years at the end of a fantastic 3-mile hike on the Reef Bay Trail in St John. We highly recommend it as well.
Property Manager purchased this condo in 2006
Our Condo is located on by far the nicest end of the island, and we also own the smaller unit next door (VRBO #267936). Beyond that, we never cease to be amazed by the combination of spectacular view, morning sun, cooling ocean breezes and the seemingly ideal location of our two condos. In addition, for families or friends traveling together, we are pleased to be able to provide an opportunity for the entire group to be close together in adjoining condos (we even have a door connecting the two patios that is only unlocked for such groups).
Guest comment 2/07: Thank you so very, very much for your hospitality....and Bernadette also. The TV is easy, if you follow the instruction card. Thanks to Bernadette for coming all the way out to us the first night and bringing two dozen CD's for us to play for some entertainment. I used the wireless at the reception area by front desk and found they also have snacks for sale as well. I spoke with other guests, picked up a few tips, and met nice people staying at the resort. There is a wonderful man name of Dan that bartends most nights at Agave's Overlook lounge. A lady named Debbie owns the shop by Fungi's; she can tell you how to go out on "Urge" the little red boat anchored nearby . We had a wonderful time and are already thinking of our next visit. I hope it can be real soon!. We had lots of R & R which we needed. We did just enough to satisfy our curiosities. We tried dinner at the Old Stone Farmhouse and met some nice young people working there. Trips to Magens Bay, the milkshakes are really good on the way; and the beaches on St. John, are two spots we tried. We had some great ribs , bought in the parking lot after we got off the ferry, to take with us. Our favorite activity was to stare at the beautiful view from the condo. Next time we will venture to some other spots too and do a little more snorkeling or a boat trip. David, who works weekends at the activity desk, at the resort, is very helpful and fun to talk to. It was hard to leave when our last day came.
We had a wonderful time staying in this unit at Point Pleasant Resort. The unit looks exactly like the pictures. The views from the balcony are absolutely breathtaking. The manager was very responsive before and during our trip. We rented a car as most people had recommended, but would just take taxis in the future. Coki beach was our favorite and was in walking distance from the resort. We had dinner in Red Hook almost every night and enjoyed every restaurant! We can't wait to go back!
My family of 4 stayed in the condo for a week and we truly enjoyed our stay. The manager will contact you with the details prior to your trip. GPS does not pick up the entire address, you would need to enter Smith Bay Rd, once you're on Smith Bay, just keep going until you see the Resort sign. The resort overall is well kept and it is still work in progress. There is security staff on patrol at night. The condo itself is beautiful and you can't get enough of sitting in the balcony. Since we had 2 kids we baby proofed the condo and put many items in the closet. The bed is very comfortable, the bathroom is great, there is everything you need in the kitchen and the fridge is fully stocked with condiments. Wifi internet is great and the owners have put activities brochures and recommendations in a small desk. During our week stay, we only turned the AC on two nights. The other nights we kept the doors open and the trade winds keep us cool the entire time. I noticed there are no ants in the apartment at all, which is rare in the Caribbean. Housekeeping does a great job at keeping the condo clean.
The small Sugar beach by the resort would do if you don't feel like driving to other beaches. It is sandy once you pass the small rocks on the edge. If you're going to cross to St John from Red Hook, I recommended taking the 9am ferry. Red Hook is only a 5 minutes drive from the property. Also you won't go wrong with any restaurant in Red Hook.
Maybe for couples a car is not needed, but for families with kids, you definitely need a car.
I highly recommend this condo.
I don't even know where to start. The photos do not do it justice. We had a great vacation with our two children (ages 6 and 11) for a week while staying at Point Pleasant. The views are stunning; we woke to a gorgeous sunrise every morning. The breezes with the sliders open is perfect - we were never hot. We cooked in all evenings except one. Stop by the grocery store west of Red Hook and pick up any provisions you need. The condo is extremely well appointed: well thought out decor, more towels than you could possibly need and what a lovely surprise to find so many of the necessary condiments, etc already there! It was exactly as described. There is no outdoor grill, however, but it would have been too windy to grill anyways. You will not miss it. All of my questions leading up to the trip were quickly answered and I have already recommended this property to MANY people I know. We rented a Jeep and explored as much of the island as possible. Don't miss mermaid's chair on the far west end, it is worth the hike. Our favorite beaches were Coki (in the early AM before the cruise ship vacationers arrive) and Smith Bay / Lindquist Beach (we had this bit of paradise to ourselves for hours some mornings). Take the car ferry to St. John for a day and explore: trunk bay and maho are both our favorites as is hiking the many, many hiking trails on st john that just aren't available on st thomas. We avoided Charlotte Amalie as we really wanted a relaxed vacation but if you are going to go, check the cruise ship schedule to avoid the mobs. Happy hour at Tap & Still in Red Hook was great - the best burgers and fries on the island and insanely inexpensive. Whether you are looking for adventure or looking for a relaxed get away, this condo was perfect! I cannot wait to return!
There's a reason why the VRBO Bear had stayed and recommended this unit!
This unit had a all around balcony and all walls were glassed, just as the pictures show. Very spacious corner unit with it's own privacy, located on the 4th floor (2nd from the top). Very quiet and safe! We slept with our sliding doors open listening to the waves.
LOCATION - The location is about 25 minutes from the airport and about 7 minutes from Red Hook. It's a private area with a security gate and guard. There's was only one open restaurant on the property and the nearest grocery store is a 10 minute car ride.
The property has 3 different pools. This unit overlooks one of the pool. It's nearby the bar/restaurant.
FOOD - I'd recommend stopping by a grocery and purchasing food to cook. We wanted to relax during our 6 day stay and did not care to drive around. So we rented a car upon arriving at the airport, and picked up groceries on the way. We returned the car the next day.
DO I NEED A CAR? - If you're planning to drive around and check out the island, DEFINITELY YES! We simply wanted to stay at the property enjoy the pool and nearby beach, so we only rented for one day upon arriving.
THINGS TO DO - The best snorkeling I've done in all of the Caribbean is within walking distance at Coki Beach. Bring a piece of bread and dozens of fish will come to waist high water. The property office has snorkeling gear for free to use, they also have kayaks. Coki beach is a bit of a party scene with restaurants playing loud music by the locals. There's jet skis and other water sports available for rent. (***The easiest way to get to Coki Beach is to WALK there. Go through a gate nearby one of the restaurants, walk across the beach, turn right on and go up the street). Parking can be scarce there.
VISITING OTHER ISLANDS- You can walk down to the main gate and at the edge of the main road you can take a local "bus" (a F150 with seats on the back), and it's 5 minutes away to Red Hook Ferry, the cost is $5/person. The ferry's can take you to any other islands. We visited St John (you DO NOT NEED YOUR PASSPORT to visit St John), and rented a Dinghy for 1/2 day.
**Also note, that getting back to the property, I'd suggest getting with one of the local taxis. The $5 bus travels clockwise, and would take you for looong not so scenic tour.
TAXI- The taxi's have a flat rate mandated by the government. It was $25 for the two of us to get back to the airport.
We spent a lovely week in this condo. Our favorite thing about the unit was the sweeping deck facing an amazing view on two sides of the unit and the sliding glass door “walls” that basically doubled the size of the unit. We loved that we were close enough to the water to listen to the waves all night. Parking was always available right outside the unit. Because the lockable door to the unit is before you reach the deck, the unit feels very secure and you feel totally comfortable leaving the sliding glass doors wide open all the time. We made great use of the beach chairs and snorkeling gear- testing out different beaches every day. And being so close to the town of Red Hook was a huge bonus for being near great restaurants and the ferry to St. John. We’d recommend having a car for this condo. Cara was always ready to answer questions when we had them. All in all- a great week!

We had spent our honeymoon at Point Pleasant and I wanted to surprise my husband for our 30th anniversary. We loved it the first time and felt the same way this time. I picked this unit as I wanted to be close to the water. We were a short walk to the lower pool and Fungi's. Actually we could see both from our balcony. The view is breathtaking. We were up every morning to watch the sunrise and lounge on the balcony. The pictures on this site show exactly how it looks but really can't capture the full beauty of it.
The grounds are not fancy but felt more like home than we would have at, say, the Wyndham next door or some fancy hotel. We spent some time on Sugar Beach and realy enjoyed that even though it was small. We even did some snorkeling there. We hiked around to other areas, saw lots of iguanas and enjoyed the view as well as the plants and trees along the paths. It felt like our personal home.
We cooked in a few nights and had breakfast every morning there. The condo was furnished with everything you need. The bathroom and kitchen area are new and very clean. It's probably not the furnishing I would choose, but it was comfortable. We really made good use of the outdoor furniture as it was padded and comfy, not your usual stark patio furniture. We had the glass doors open on both sides and most times there was a nice breeze. I loved the outdoor feeling.
We ate at Fungi's our first night there and stopped in several times fo drinks, finishing our last meal there. The bartender/server was so friendly and nice. We were going to eat at Agave one night but ended up going into Red Hook and at at Fish Tails instead. We did walk up there and it is beautiful but not a better view than from our balcony.
Cara Jo was very helpful in answering questions and very prompt in answering e-mails. She was very easy to work with.
We did take a sail on the Morningstar. We really enjoyed that. We went to a wond snorkeling spot and had a nice lunch. It's very easy to get to Red Hook for a meal or the ferry to St. John. We took our car one day and also took the people ferry one night to watch the sunset. I think our best day was a private charter of a power boat. We went to the BVI's with Sam from Vibe Charters. We ended up snorkeling at St. John and also the caves, had lunch at Peace and Love on Jost and stopped at Soggy Dollar for a drink. He took us wherever we wanted to go and it was nice having a small group of only four of us.
Lots of choices including, Golf at well publicized Mahogany Run, Light Tackle or Deep Sea Fishing, Inter-island Boating, with Captain or by Private Charter, Duty Free Shopping, Spectacular Sightseeing and Swimming, Surfing on the North side, and much more, Not to be missed during your stay is a day on St John, Three quarters of the island is owned by the National Park Service and it is considered by many to be the most beautiful of all the Virgins -- British or U.S., You are no more than a 5-minute cab ride to the Ferry Terminal in Red Hook (car ferry also available), where a twenty minute voyage will deposit you in Cruz Bay, St John, only five miles away. St John is most famous for its series of white sand beaches, each more beautiful than the other, but it has also gained prominence for its artist population and its many unique shops.
