House of character entirely restored in a quiet village

Our house, two storeys, built in 1805 and completely restored in 2010, is located in a very quiet street Rouvenac, a small village of about 200 inhabitants, located in the beautiful valley of Faby, 300 m altitude.

The ground floor has a kitchen with all the comforts (electric cooker, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, fridge freezer), a large living room with a lounge and a large sofa, a wood stove, a toilet and a bathroom with shower and washing machine.

The first floor has three bedrooms (two rooms with a 140-bed in one and two beds in the other 90, and a children's room with bunk beds) and a second bathroom with shower and WC .

Electric heaters installed in all rooms of the house allow a stay in cold periods and even winter.

A private garden in the rear of the house offers the possibility, in the summer, enjoy your meal outside or relax.

Every morning the baker comes in the village. For other races, the small town of Espéraza, 7 km from Rouvenac offers many shops such as bakeries, butchers, pharmacies, grocery and supermarket every Thursday and Sunday market offers the opportunity to discover and appreciate local products. Several doctors and nurses also practice Espéraza.

Rouvenac several places of discovery and hiking are possible without having to borrow the car.

Our location is in the Upper Aude Valley at the foot of the Pyrenees 300 m. This is the ideal place to discover not only a wilderness still protected, but also to visit the high places of the Cathar era, such as castles Lapradelle-Puilaurens Puivert, Arques, or even Montsegur, located to the Most on vertiginous peaks.

Children, and even large, will be curious to visit the famous Museum of Dinosaurs Espéraza or that of headgear which traces the time still near where the valley manufactured hats.

This area caters to both lovers of nature with its many hiking trails, lakes with clear water, such as those of Puivert Montbel or Arques, and landscapes of unparalleled diversity. Half a day just to go to a mountain landscape with deep green dense forests, Mediterranean vegetation where vines and olive trees are kings.

Gourmets will enjoy the local specialties around the foie gras, duck, cassoulet or fricassee Limoux accompanied by a good chardonnay or a stew.

From January 26 to April 6, carnival of Limoux in full swing. Disguised brotherhoods parade through the center of the city and make day outings weekends. This is an opportunity to discover a different tradition as purely limouxine other carnivals.

Throughout the weekend of the Ascension, towns of the Upper Aude Valley welcome in public rooms or in private, many painters, sculptors, photographers exhibit their work. In the evening, several shows and entertainment are offered in different exhibition spaces. This is the famous Artists to follow 'that wins every year more and more successful. Why not take advantage of the long weekend to come and discover the artists and the region?

And if you fancy taking a dip in the Mediterranean occurs, the coast is an hour and a half drive. The same applies to join the Pyrenean peaks such as the St. Bartholomew Carlit or Canigou. Rich region and engaging never leaves indifferent.

Notes:
People who smoke have the possibility to rent our house provided they do not smoke inside. People with disabilities can evolve in our house because access has only short walk between the kitchen and living room. On the ground floor is not only the kitchen, bathroom and WC, but also the living room which features a large sofa bed that can be used for sleeping.
