Guestbook comments from the owner

We have been coming to Kerry for the last 30 years and in this particular cottage for the last 10 years.

This is a charming cottage retaining many of the original features, which makes our stay so much more authentic.

Sitting round a cosy peat fire in the large kitchen / dining room during the summer evenings gives you a lovely sense of peace and enjoyment.

The cottage itself is situated at the end of a track to the back of the 'glen'. It is so restful and peaceful there and on those lovely warm days it is a joy to sit outside and listen to the sound of the bees in the fuchsias bushes, and the tap tapping sound of the Stone Chats.

The cottage is in easy reach of the fantastic sandy St Finian's Bay where the Atlantic rollers crash on to the beach, and provide hours of fun for bodyboarders and surfers alike.

Arts and crafts are to be found on every corner and the sound of Irish music from every pub. From young to old they gather to sing, play and dance, and provide an atmosphere second to none.

Archaeologically, there are a host of interesting wedge tombs, standing stones, forts etc. all waiting to be rediscovered. There are also plenty of places to walk such as roads that follow above the sea, or over the hills that give panoramic views of the magnificent and beautiful Kerry countryside.

Within a few miles there are many islands that provide the visitor with an excellent, rich and varied choice of attractions including wonderful gardens, spectacular views, beautiful sandy beaches and a wealth of historic sites. Nearby Valentia Island has a host of places to be discovered, and a boat trip to Beginish Island is a must. The Skellig Islands have to be visited for the experience and, further afield the now deserted Blasket Islands are well worth a visit.

We never tire of revisiting the many places to be found in this tiny corner of Kerry, and we never fail to discover new places on every visit.

To stay in this lovely old Irish cottage within an area of such beauty, joyous music and friendly people is not just a holiday, it's an experience of a lifetime that you will want to revisit year after year.

beautiful charming house in a stunning bay

  • 5 of 5

We truly enjoyed our stay in the Gleann House in the beautiful scenery of St. Finians bay. The house is perfectly equipped for a quiet relaxing holiday in one of the most beautiful parts of Ireland.

Great time

  • 4 of 5

My family and I truly enjoyed our stay at the Glen House. Would without a doubt, stay there again. The location is beautiful with the bay right out the windows. Would encourage own to do some cosmetic 'stuff' to the house. If done, probably be booked continually.

Rust, ruimte en sfeer!

  • 4 of 5

Lovely house in amazing surrounding

  • 5 of 5

If you're looking for a place to stay in the South-West of Ireland, I cannot imagine a better place than this. It has a charming interior, two fireplaces, proper beds, a decent book shelf - not to be underestimated. The location is very, very nice: in a quiet valley, only a three minute walk to the sea.

My wife and I had a great time at this Gleann house, and we're definitely going back there soon.
