Clean, Friendly Staff, Good location
We stayed for 3 nights and overall our stay was comfortable and we enjoyed a lot of Florence.
Location: This location was a little bit farther from the city center than we would have originally liked. It is about 5 smaller blocks from San Marco square which is the main hub for bus stops.. Thankfully, we had the Firenze pass so this was useful in getting around by bus. Also, the Accademia museum is about a 5-7 minute walk from the apartment. There are a few restaurants near the apartment and a grocery store just a few doors down. The nice thing about being further from the city center was that the apartment was very quiet. We stayed in downtown Florence last year (on via del corsa) and got NO sleep because of the noise. This location was a nice, quiet break from the busyness of downtown but still close enough for a quick walk to the bus stop. Also, it is just 2 quick bus stops from Santa Maria Novella train station.
Rooms: The rooms we very bright, clean, and comfortable for the most part. The two twin-sized beds in one of the bedrooms kept breaking. My Mom would lay down on it and there would be a loud pop as the slats underneath would come out causing the bed to sink down. This was so uncomfortable for my parents that they had to move their mattress onto the floor on the last night we were there. Both rooms have large closets to hang stuff and also have separate AC units which worked great.
Bathroom: The bathroom was clean and very functional. The shower was larger than most European places and the water pressure was good.
Kitchen: The kitchen was functional and many items were stocked including sugar, salt, pepper, oil for cooking, utensils for cooking, pots and pans, microwave, fridge and freezer. The only thing I needed was a vegetable peeler but I just used a knife.
Price: The price was very good for what we got. Since there are two rooms, we split the price per couple and it was very reasonable. A lot cheaper than staying downtown and you get a lot more for the price.
Staff: Elisabetta was there when we arrived, checked us in and showed us the apartment. We also had a problem with the WiFi and within a few hours she had gotten back to us with a solution. She was also flexible enough to let us leave our bags in the room after check out time so that we could have another day of touring without our luggage.
Overall, I would suggest this place to friends and would stay there again as long as the two twin bed slats get repaired.
Owner's Response: Dear Alicia,
Thank you first for staying at DELLE RUOTE apartment those 3 nights! thank you for your comment and all the appreciation, it was a pleasure to host you.
I'm really sad to hear that there was a sinking in a bed, but you didn't told me neither when you where here, nor after...I'd have solved this as per the wifi, I always like people to enjoy the apartment and it's comforts, so I'm really sorry for this. I've checked and replaced the defective slat so now you are welcome to come back again!
We always like to offer only the best to our guests for a pleasant stay in the historical city center of Florence!
This is why we always try to get back, to help, to suggest guests as soon as possible: our target is to give what we'd like to find in vacation apartment to enjoy the travel as at home!
