Discover the great Lisbon Region, and stay in a cozy apartment located in Oeiras, at 10km from Lisbon, with magnificient views, garage and terrace. Railway station at 500m and excelente access.Apartment fully furnished and equipped, with 95m2 of area, located in a quiet area, near the best beaches (2km) of 'Cascais Line', and Lisbon (10km). It has 2 bedrooms (15 and 14m2), living room (30m2), kitchen (12m2) with balcony, bathroom and toilet. It is a 3th floor of a building of 4 floors with garage collective and 2 lifts. It has a magnificent roof terrace, shared by residents, where you can enjoy a magnificent view over the sea and the city of Lisbon, and also enjoy the sun (sun loungers are at your disposal for this purpose). It is located near the train station (500m)-Line of Cascais, the Oeiras Park-Shopping Centre (2km), and centers of Paço de Arcos (800m) and Caxias (500m). The apartment has a double bed and two single beds. In the living-room you have a comfortable sofa bed for 2 more people. It has also a fireplace with stove in the living room and central heating in all rooms, phone, cable TV and Internet Wi-Fi. The kitchen is very spacious, has a space for dining, with table and chairs, and is fully equipped for the needs of a family, with washing machine, dishwashing, fridge with freezer compartment, microwave, coffee maker, kettle, toaster, iron and ironing board. The kitchen has a closed balcony, where the treatment of laundry is done.

If you love cycling, I can provided bikes for adults and also for children (extra service).

About Vera Marques

I am 54 years old and mother of 4 kids, and I am working in the area of engineering design. I live and work in Lisbon and have one beautiful and well located apartment in Paco de Arcos / Oeiras that I rent to reliable people, who travel to Portugal for professional reasons, or for holidays. When I bought the apartment in 2000, I lived there for 4 years, until I had 2 more children, which forced me to look for a bigger house.

I am very pleased to welcome visitors and give them all the information they need so they have a great stay in Lisbon, and also elsewhere in the country. I speak reasonable English and French very well. I also understand the Spanish and Italian. See you soon.

Why Vera Marques chose Cascais

My apartment is located 10 km from Lisbon center and 2 km from the city of Oeiras, has the advantage of being close to the supervised beaches of 'Cascais Line'. The beach of Santo Amaro de Oeiras is located at 2km and Carcavelos at 3km.

It also has the leafy city park in Oeiras, that you can enjoy in the period of greatest heat. This garden has a play park for children. If you like walking or cycling you can also go the 'oceanic promenade' that accompanies the beaches along all the coast through Cascais In its course lies an 'Ocean Pool', excellent saltwater swimming pool.

To make shopping for fresh food, you have markets in the two closest villages, Paço de Arcos and Caxias. You also have supermarkets in Paço de Arcos (Pingo Doce) and Oeiras (the Shopping Center 'Oeiras Park'). If you don´t have a car, these places are close to the train station of Caxias and Paço de Arcos, and you can do your shopping on your way home, after your rides.

To appreciate the Portuguese cuisine, visit the Historic Centre of Paço de Arcos(1km)which has several restaurants highly recommended.

The apartment is near the train station (500m)-Line of Cascais, the Oeiras Park-Shopping Centre (2km), and centers of Paço de Arcos (800m) and Caxias (500m). This train line connects Lisbon to Cascais. In Lisbon / Cais do Sodre (10 minutes by train), you have the metro and buses that will transport you to any place of Lisbon. For longer trips it is recommended Sintra(15km) where you can enjoy the magnificent scenery, visit the Moorish Castle, Pena Palace, among many other places worth visiting. In Sintra taste the typical cakes of the Region “Queijada (cheesecake) and'travesseiro'(pillow).

Beautiful Apartment for visiting Lisbon and Area

Vera has a lovely apartment with an enclosed garage. The location is very good if you want to get to know Lisbon without having to stay directly in the city. The area is very quiet in the evenings which allows one to have the windows open during the night and the apartment is on the fourth floor (there is also an elevator) so there is no need to fear of any unwanted visitors. The apartment has all amenities that one needs for a holiday apartment and Vera supplies an excellent tourist information service if so desired. Lisbon is a very interesting city and this was our third trip within 18 months. We enjoyed our stay very much!!!

Oeiras was founded in 1759 by the Marquis of Pombal, as a reward granted by King José I to his minister for having reconstructed downtown Lisbon after the great earthquake of 1755, it was at the county that he built a magnificent manor-house, the Palace of the Counts of Oeiras, which still exhibits grand stone staircases, statues, splendid tiles and beautiful gardens with cascades and an aqueduct with arches.

Oeiras was once part of a defensive line of maritime fortresses built along the Lisbon coast between the 16th and 17th centuries, including the Saint Lawrence Fort (known as Bugio, rising on a tiny islet in the middle of the river Tagus) and the São Julião da Barra Fort, both examples of the Renaissance military architecture.

Over the last decades, the county has benefited from an investment in cultural and tourism assets and now offers a range of new attractions and sites of interest, from Fábrica da Pólvora (a former gunpowder factory from the 16th century which has been recovered for leisure and cultural purposes) to the Poets Park (a vast green space with statues of Portuguese poets and writers) and the Palace of the Royal Estate at Caxias, dating from the 18th century and surrounded by wonderful gardens.

Visitors may also benefit from different leisure and sports facilities, such as the sports complex of Jamor, the Maritime Walk (a seaside promenade to link Algés to the Torre beach) or the recent marina at Oeiras, prepared to welcome sixty ships, besides other parks and gardens.

The historical centres of several towns have also been recovered and display monuments and sites of interest in picturesque and pleasant settings, often including good restaurants, as is the case of Paço de Arcos.

Talking about Lisbon, it stands on its seven hills overlooking the river Tagus.Capital of Portugal since its conquest from the Moors in 1147, Lisbon is a legendary city with over 20 centuries of history and the most important tourist center in the country.'Pombalinos' buildings of downtown, with tiled façades, the narrow medieval streets of the neighborhoods of Alfama and Bairro Alto, where at night you can hear the'fado'and enjoy a fun nightlife,the numerous museums and shopping, Lisbon is a city with many options. On the outskirts of town, Sintra worth a visit for all its romantic atmosphere, to which contributed in very different writers in literature. It should be noted as points of interest the'Castelo dos Mouros', the 'Palácio da Regaleira', 'Cabo da Roca' known as the west, ernmost point of Europe, 'Palácios de Sintra e da Pena' whose construction dates back to 1839. In the village of Sintra, stroll to horse carriages that carry tourists through the magnificent estates with centuries of stories.Nearby is the 'Palácio de Queluz' and 'Convento de Mafra' the largest religious monument in Portugal.
