We welcome you to our rural villa which is set amongst olive and almond groves in the Andalucian mountains, close to the scenic Montes de Malaga Natural Park and within easy reach of Malaga and Granada airports. We are just 6km from Colmenar. Outside there are two large terraces with shaded area and an 8x4 meter private swimming pool. Here you can relax and enjoy the stunning panoramic mountain views, watch eagles soaring the thermals and hear the gentle tinkle of goat bells. Whatever you want from a holiday, you will be spoiled for choice, with the historic cities of Granada, Malaga and Cordoba, stunning natural parks and pretty beaches on the doorstep. Or you may simply wish to relax by the pool soaking up the sunshine and breathtaking views in peace and tranquility.

This secluded privately owned villa with a private pool, terraces and barbecue offers privacy, peace and tranquillity. Set amongst olive and almond trees in the beautiful Montes de Malaga, only 5 kilometres from the 'Pueblo Blanco' (White Village) of Colmenar.

The house is approached via an undulating country lane and can accommodate up to 6 adults with 2 double and 1 twin bedroom and a bathroom with bath and shower.

The house offers all modern facilities and is decorated in traditional Spanish style with Andalucian floor tiles and wood burning stove. Windows are fitted with fly screens and shutters.

There terrace includes an 8x4 private pool, and plenty of shady porch areas and sun umbrellas to escape the midday sun. Enjoy a relaxing meal cooked on the barbecue. There is a large outdoor dining table seating up to 6 comfortably which is located under the porch area.

Casa Villa Jade is set down a good unsurfaced track between Colmenar, Comares and Riogordo, traditional Andalucian white villages with shops, bars, restaurants. The Montes de Malaga Natural Park, famous for its walking and cycling tracks through shady pine forest is 15 minutes drive and the El Chorro Gorge and El Torcal Natural Park and famous GR7 walking route are within easy driving distance. Nearby Antequera has historic churches, a castle, shops, restaurants and an excellent golf course. Malaga is a city not to be missed with many historic sites including the Alcazaba and Cathedral, the Picasso Museum, excellent tapas bars and restaurants and enough good shops to satisfy any shopaholic. Granada with the world famous heritage site the Alhambra Palace is an hour away. Seville, Ronda and Cordoba with its famous Mezquita are also within easy reach. The sandy coastal beaches are just 45 minutes drive.

  • A 25% deposit is required at the time of booking. The remainder must be paid no later than 8 weeks before arrival. In the event of non-payment on the due date, we reserve the right to cancel the holiday and the booking deposit will be forfeited. We will try to accommodate any alterations you wish to make after booking your holiday however should you wish to cancel your booking no refunds will be payable. Please note we do not accept payment by credit or debit card.

    The villa will be available from 16:00 on the start date of your booking and must be vacated at 10:00 on the day of departure This is in order to prepare the house for incoming guests. In low season other arrangements may be made by mutual agreement.

Notes: The entire villa including the outside terrace and pool area is built on one level with no steps. The house has air-conditioning to the lounge and master bedroom and there are fly screens and shutter blinds fitted to all windows and doors. There is an open plan lounge/ dining area incorporating a wood burner, satellite TV including the main UK terrestrial channels,and Spanish. The house also has WiFi Internet access. Colmenar is known as the capital of the Malaga Mountains, with a population of about 3200. It is a pretty white village, but also a truly Spanish working town. You are just as likely to see locals using mules and horses for transport as motorbikes, scooters and cars. The coat of arms for Colmenar is a Beehive with seven bees flying over it, this can be seen in the village in a pretty tile design. The word COLMENA means beehive in Spanish and as expected there is a long tradition of bee keeping in the area. There are the usual facilities, such as supermarkets, bars and restaurants. There is a colourful market on a Thursday morning, where you can buy fruit, vegetables and flowers, also clothes, shoes and local produce. At the top of the hill as you go through the market is an English Supermarket run by Sarah. Here you can buy all the things the children are asking for or things you may just fancy. There is a Doctor's with emergency room and a good chemist. Colmenar, like many other villages in Andalucia was in Moorish hands for 600 years, this can be seen in the local architecture, culture, and music. It passed into Christian hands in the year 1488 during the time of the Christian monarchs – Ferdinand of Aragon and Isabella of Castile. Two landmarks are immediately obvious as you approach Colmenar, at the highest point is The Hermitage of the Santisima Virgen de la Candelaria, patron saint of the village. If you visit Colmenar in February you can observe the celebration of her festival. Further down the hill is the Church of Nuestra Senora del la Asuncion a 16th century church built with certain remnants of the Moorish style. Climate and weather The Costa del Sol is reputed to have one of the best climates in Europe. With an incredible 325 days of sunshine each year, even in winter months you can be relaxing on warm, bright, sunny days.

We spent 2 weeks at the villa. We really enjoyed it. We live in Paris and it is very noisy so we appreciated the quietness.
If you like to be in a quiet place, with a nice view on the countryside and surrounding by hills, this is the place you should go. The villa is very pleasant : you have got everything inside and outside (barbecue, ...).
The swimming pool is perfect to refresh, especially during summer time when the temperatures can be very high.
It is well situated : you can easily go to Grenada, Seville or Cordoue with the motorway.
Erica and Ken who met us the first day down the village to show us the way to the villa are very kind; It is pleasant to have people you can rely on when you are abroad.
We are very happy to have found this villa to rent for our holidays.

We loved every minute of our stay. Relaxing by the pool surrounded by the beautiful mountains was so relaxing, followed by a barbeque and a swim to cool off - bliss. One day I noticed a flock of eagles circling high above which was amazing to watch. The house itself is cosy and clean with everything you could wish for, even broadband which was a big plus for me as I could keep in touch with my family and friends without having the expense of phoning. The nearby village of Colmenar is a beautiful typical spanish village where we went to have a look around the weekly market before having tapas and a drink in a local bar. The tranquility of our stay was wonderful and we will definately come again.
