We are often asked about cell coverage. Here is a response to a recent question.
'Thanks for the question. Our carrier is AT&T and about three years ago the coverage went down the tubes . Our cousin has Carolina west and here works just fine. I have heard rumor that Verizon works but I can't verify that. There is a standard landline that you can receive calls with or use a calling card to call out. There is also wifi for Skype or FaceTime or imessage There are pockets on the way to Spruce Pine and Newland where texts and Voicemails will come through. The bottom line is that it can be inconvenient but is no different at our cabin than anywhere else in the region. It is the nature of the topography. It is not something that we get complaints about. Don't hesitate if you have other questions.'
Such beauty, solitude, grace and natural splendor. My 2 weeks plus at Arbor Branch was relaxing, stress free with beauty surrounding from morning sunrise to the late evening stars that were so clear in the evening sky one felt that one could reach up and touch them. The cottage was very well maintained, well supplied, all was in working condition. I have already recommended Arbor Branch and hope to return myself next summer.
Our stay at Arbor Branch was fantastic. It snowed on our first night and was magical to watch while being fireside. The photos do not do the cabin justice, it is beautiful. Far enough out to escape the noise of vehicles but close enough to run out to grab things I forgot.
Arbor Branch cabin was a wonderful retreat, very cozy and in the perfect location to get away from stresses of everyday life. Thank you for being dog friendly, we will definitely be back!
The property is very peaceful and secluded. My husband and I spent the weekend hiking in the snow and relaxing by the fire in the cozy cabin. If you are looking for a quiet place to get away and relax, this is it! Spruce Pine is only 10 minutes away, if you need to buy groceries on your way to the property.
We decided to stay here for the thanksgiving holiday and chose this one over the others because we wanted something a little more secluded and with a wood burning fireplace. The cabin is was very rustic and comfortable. When it states it was on 13 acres of land, we thought we would be a little more secluded from neighbors but it wasn't. They weren't right next to us, so we were still pretty happy. There wasn't much of a view, so if that's what you're looking for, I would recommend somewhere else. Though when the trees are in full bloom, I bet it is very nice. A few things that we had concerns with, were the doors were a hassle to lock, all the locks need to be replaced. We had to finagle with them several times to ensure they were locked. We used the washer and dryer while we were here also, and the washer did not have a knob, which made turning and operating it a bit more difficult. we did however love the board games that were available. We would recommend bringing a cooking sheet or whisk if you plan on cooking certain dinners. Other than that, there were pots and pans available. I would recommend checking out spruce pine, they have a quaint downtown and a cozy coffee shop if you get a bit of cabin fever. Also although Boone is 30 miles away, it's about an hour drive away. Overall we were very happy with our stay. It was a great holiday of relaxation and food in the mountains.
We had such a great time, the cabin could not have been more perfect! The surroundings were so peaceful, the sound of the running creek below was very relaxing. It had everything we could have wanted. Loved the fireplace, the furnishings were comfortable and it was very private. We will definately be back and I have already given the information to several friends!
The cabin is located in beautiful Plumtree, NC. This is in Avery County between Banner Elk and Spruce Pine. 27 miles south of Boone and 50 miles north of Asheville.
