Jaca, today has become a major tourist center and winter sports and adventure in the Pyrenees, but also boasts a remarkable monumental legacy that reflects the significance of its more than two thousand years of history.
It has the first Romanesque Cathedral of the country (s. XI), raised to consolidate the city as a strategic location on the Camino de Santiago. It is considered one of the most important monuments of the Spanish Romanesque art, recognized not only for its antiquity but also to present a personal synthesis between themselves and others, within the scope of the routes of the Camino de Santiago elements.
Jaca Citadel is the only of its kind that remains intact and separate from other buildings throughout the world.
Jaca is a place known for its quiet squares, the authentic flavor of its streets and the proliferation of beautiful parks and recreational areas that emphasize his warm and friendly character. The Paseo de la Cantera, which runs one of the branches of the Camino de Santiago to his entry into the city, is perhaps the most relevant example.
