SECLUDED OCEAN PROPERTY WITH ACCESS TO SEMI-PRIVATE BEACH

Great location to relax and walk along the beach.
My only complaint is the cleaning fee which seems excessive. They want you to clean, vacuum and still charge a $90 cleaning fee. The cleaning fee should be in the rate, it feels like a rip off.

The set-up at this unique coastal get-away location is ideal, as the description says, for two couples or parents with adolescents or teens who need their own space, because there are two untis that rent as one vacation location. Each unit has it's own bed, bath, kitchenette and sitting area. The large, surrounding deck was gated off on both ends so that our dogs could roam outside the units without taking off. You have a 180-degree view of the bay looking south and west, towards Tomales Bay and Pt. Reyes. The units are surrounded by beautiful trees so you have privacy to use the spa while you're enjoying the fantastic view. The whole time we were there, we only saw one person who was working at the aquaculture facility down by the beach (the facility is trying to foster abalone growth). There was everything we needed for a comfortable stay, and the owners left us a little bag of coffee beans and some snacks for our stay. They even supply a dog bowl and pet blankets if you forget your dog bed. We saw lots of rabbits, and gorgeous coastal birds. There's a telescope so you can watch the fishing boats. You do need to get whatever groceries you need before the drive onto the property, which winds from Hwy 1 to the coast. We got ours in Petaluma. The units were clean and comfortable and the property caregivers make it easy to contact them should you need anything, but otherwise you won't see them. When we felt like it, we could check email since Wi-Fi was available, but we rarely felt like it...you're too busy winding down, enjoying the coastal breeze, relaxing and chatting, playing cards on the deck, etc. Our dogs had a fantastic time walking on the beach with us. We went into Petaluma one night and had a great dinner at a tavern, I believe it was called the Hopdog Tavern, but cooked all other meals on-site. We'll definitely go back, stay longer, and make use of the kayaks provided. Thank you Dave and Diane for creating this little piece of coastal heaven.

We found the facility clean and our stay enjoyable. The telephone did not work; however, our cell phones did. We also had trouble using the wi-fi connections, but that was resolved quickly. I would suggest a better locking system on the main gate. Opening the combination lock when it is on the opposite side was ackward. Maybe a combo lock on each side with the same combinaion would work better.
