Our new Victorian Estate in the heart of Duck Village is very similar to Sunnybank and has 6 large master bedrooms that sleep 18 people. Website: http://thesaltaire.com
If you need more bedrooms or don't have a 4 wheel drive SUV The Saltaire Mansion is the home for you! Our street has its own private beach access. If you like being within strolling distance of all the best restaurants, shops and sound front boardwalk Saltaire is centered in the heart of the Famous Duck Village .
Both our homes have a Friday to Friday rental weeks in order to save you wasted hours in the weekend traffic. The entire island (400,000+) turns over on Sat & Sun and is funneled into 2 roads. You'll coast in on Friday, do your shopping and be hanging around the pool while the other 400,000 are stuck in traffic.
The rate you see is the full total that you pay. We do not add on another 20 % of taxes and service fees like other companies, we have already built that into our pricing so that what you see is what you pay.
Sunnybank is 10 minutes from the Food Lion shopping complex offering unlimited shopping, restaurants, bars, golf, etc. The local gas station/store can be accessed in less than 5 minutes.
Rated best undiscovered beach.: Amenities include elevator, Large salt-water pool, Kiddie pool, 2 hot tubs, gourmet kitchen and so much more. Seclusion with easy accessibility is the main ingredients for this fabulous mansion. But most of all you stay with us will help you forget how to work and remember how to play and have fun again.
If you're in the mood for a beach drive, the Virginia border is a 14-mile jaunt North. Drive carefully; the beach is visited by sea turtles, seals resting on their migration, etc. Dolphin sightings are common; whale sightings are much less common.
The remarkable area surrounding Sunnybank.: The area boasts a beautiful shoreline, two of the East Coast's largest sand dunes, 4 famous lighthouses, museums, water sports, great shopping and a plethora of restaurants, not to mention great fishing & wildlife. True oceanfront living tempts you to enjoy wild mustangs grazing in your own yard, star lit walks along the beaches, waking up to the surf and exploration of the Sound in a relaxing environment.
Things to do: Locally, you may want to visit the Whalehead Club at the lighthouse, a turn of the Century hunting 'camp.' It's a restored mansion from the glory days of the great hunt camps of the gilded age. Tours are given daily. Right next door, the Currituck Beach Lighthouse is also open for tours. There's a lighthouse, keeper's cottage and a bit of the old Corolla village. The wildlife preserve offers great free activities along with a interesting video and museum.
2nd Largest Dune on the Eastern Seaboard.: Penny's Hill Dune, (the Outer Banks second largest natural dune, second only to Jockey's Ridge) is located almost in your backyard. Savor the water views from every room of this unique coastal destination. Let unsurpassed ocean sunrises and sound sunsets mesmerize you. The local gas station/convenience store can be accessed in less than 5 minutes. It is like having your own private driveway; one side is bounded by the Atlantic Ocean, guarded by an army of Sandpipers, marching in unison along the water edge. On the other side exists an estuarine nature sanctuary, on the beautiful Currituck Outer Banks in a last truly pristine area, with high sand dunes, beautiful trees and thousands of acres of Island Sanctuary.

About Karen Carroll
We are definitely country people and most of the year live on a couple hundred acres in PA raising beautiful, loving Portuguese Water Dog Puppies. Our website for puppies is: http://pwdpuppies.com
Our summer family vacations are sometimes at Sunnybank our unique OBX home. But we especially enjoy family trip to our Quebec Territory in Canada which is God's country. Our private lake has 88 miles of shoreline that just take your breath away. If you want to try something different and remote: http://lacperdu.com
Karen Carroll purchased this house in 2001
Why Karen Carroll chose Corolla
We love water and the ocean so when we found Sunnybank on 3 oceanfront acres it was perfect. Lac Perdu (Lost Lake)with our ramshackle lodge and cabins in remote Quebec Canada is about as opposite as you can get from the luxury of Sunnybank's Victorian Mansion but we would be hard pressed to say which place we enjoy more.
What makes this house unique
Getting to see the wild horses right in your own yard.
Guestbook comments from the manager
We leased your Sunnybank the week of Memorial Day. I talked with you on the phone during our stay. I wanted to thank you for the champagne and the use of your lovely home. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and your home has everything anyone could want while on vacation. We had brought allot of things with us but your home already had everything.
We did not leave the home except one day to sight see, we enjoyed the sunrises, sunsets and all the wildlife. We live on a farm and when I heard the whip-o-will in the evenings I felt at home. We cooked breakfast inside, sandwiched for lunches and ate dinner every day out by the pool. It was a vacation to remember. I loved
the beach at night it was as beaches should be just the beach. You have done an outstanding job on making the home a home but yet a
vacation home where you can have a vacation worth remembering. I am envious of your rosemary it is lovely. No one in our group
wanted to leave, that says it all ! I have attached pictures from our stay there.
Thanks Ever So Much,
Betina Loflin Gonzalez
