Shore Acres Cottage is located between Ellsworth and Bar Harbor, nestled on the edge of pristine Acadia National Park. The beach and picnic area is an enjoyable three-minute walk from the cottage along a wooded country road. The state park, with boat dock and launching area, is only one half mile north of the cottage. The cottage is fully insulated and has a monitor furnace and an electric hot water heater for your year-round comfort. The cottage is supplied with linens, blankets and beach chairs. There is a 'General Store' only a few miles away. Ellsworth is about 10 miles from the cottage. There are grocery stores, shopping malls, banks, an assortment of nationally known restaurants, as well as excellent local eateries and local specialty stores. Bar Harbor is approximately a 20 mile drive and Bangor about 37 miles.

We had a great Labor Day escape and spent a most enjoyable week at this lovely, clean and well equipped cottage. It is close to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park which we love to visit. We will definitely be back.

This was the best place ever. Great hosts, great location, and great house comforts. The beds were super comfy and they had many items (sandbox, swing, park near by, beach 2 second walk away) for our toddler. We were there for a week and we kept her busy while we were able to relax. I'd highly recommend this location w/ great hosts to everyone. You are so close to Bar Harbor and Acadia but yet can enjoy the quiet and comforts of a home away from home. You'll love it - we did!

Excellent cottage, lots of space. Splendid place to sit outside and watch the birds/ squirrels. Good to chat with the owners.
Excellent base from which to explore both Acadia and mainland, yet well away from busy roads.
Just a few yards to the beach.

Wonderful cottage in a super location

Again, we had a wonderful time in a cozy, comfortable cottage. This was year 3 and we are looking forward to next year!
The location is ideal for hiking Acadia or any other Downeast sightseeing. The cottage charming and the owners could not be more attentive. See you in 2010!!

The most restful week of my year

I've come to the cottage for the last 5 years. It is clean and quiet. In the time it takes me to walk from my job to the parking lot, I can walk to the beach. I love to cook, so it's nice that the kitchen is well appointed--the only things I bring are my own knives because I prefer them. Recent additions include a dishwasher and wifi. If I feel the need to go to town for a little shopping or a night off from cooking, it is only about 20 minutes away. I've enjoyed going to Green Tea for sushi and to Finelli's for pizza and imported beer. I look forward to coming every year because it is so relaxing--reading or watching cable at the cottage, visiting the state park just a mile up the road, lying on the beach, beach combing--i am always sorry to have the week end.
