These beautifully restored traditional villas - one a five-bedroom master house, the other a two-bedroom cottage - are set among extensive grounds dotted with mature walnut trees. All around, the unspoilt, breath-taking natural beauty of the mountains overlooking the Bay of Kotor makes for an unforgettable retreat in the rejuvenating Mediterranean climate. From your elevated vantage point just above the sleepy seaside village of Morinj, the deep blue water is complemented by the extraordinary rooftops and church spires of the UNESCO world heritage site of Peast. Food buffs will be pleased to know that Morinj plays host to Catovici Milni, a former water-mill and now one of the finest restaurants in Montenegro.

The larger villa, known as Stara Skola (the old school), comprises five double bedrooms, two of them including adjoining en-suite shower rooms. The master bedroom, equipped with a raised Jacuzzi in the privacy of the room, offers a commanding view of the bay through a row of floor-to-ceiling, fully openable windows. Every bedroom enjoys a sea view, while an additional bathroom rounds out hte indoor comforts. The ground floor, also tastefully furnished in traditionally local style, consists of an open-plan kitchen, living and dining area, augmented with a stone fire place and an adjoining cloak room.

The smaller, simpler villa, consists of two attractive bedrooms and a bathroom.

There are fabulous views down the valley to the Bay of Kotor from the swimming pool, which has a children's ssection and a jacuzzi. The two houses share a large stone terrace with a barbecue and a fantastic vine covered sitting area - perfect for al fresco dining.

About Alex

I moved to Montenegro with my family when I was a small child as my father is Bosnian. I spend the summer months as a Travel Representative and get to travel all around the coast on a weekly basis to the different properties and get to meet our visitors. My favourite properties are the ones with great pool areas and comfortable sun beds, perfect for topping up your tan!

It's incredibly secluded but, surprisingly, only about 4km from the coastal road! Which makes it a perfect location.

A stunning property in a beautiful location. I couldn't actually believe we could afford this when the whole family decided to holiday together. Would love to go back and would definitely recommend to large groups!

Beautifully situated, clean and comfortable -especially liked dining on the terrace! Pool was lovely and well-maintained. Probably the best holiday we've had as an extended family. Fantastic property in a wonderful country. Especially loved the dinner at the villa - food was brilliant and the service was exemplary and friendly.
