nice getaway for the price

this is a charming home on the water. if you are interested in boating like we were, it's a bit of a scenic ride to the Gulf, about 20 minutes, but beautiful. it was a very quiet canal which was nice. The dock is quite small. I didn't care for the dock at all, but we still had a lot of fun!
the house itself is a bit outdated, the kitchen is not new, but if you're vacationing none of that should bother you. we ordered in and cooked pasta. they have everything you need to cook.
the entertainment center was great. there was a tv in each bedroom and the canal views were breathtaking. The pool was fun and we were within walking distance to the Publix shops and esplanade.
the only drawback was the HUGE MANGO tree. sure it was great having fresh mangos, but with that came little bugs galore in the guest bath daily. The owners did address the problem with exterminators, but until the treee is trimmed off the roof they will have this problem. we were forever sweeping out and vacuuming bugs from the bathroom. ick but I didn't ask for compensation since they gave me a good deal on the house. it just stunk since I am already sick that I had to take care of the bugs. at least they were only situated in the guest bath and hall.
the noise from bald eagle wasn't bad either. we really only heard it when in the master bathroom. otherwise it was pretty quiet.
the beach isn't really in walking distance unless it's winter, but the public ones are a short ride; they even have the parking sticker on the fridge to use.
overall, we had a great time. sure, newer is better, but then you have to pay for it. I REALLY ENJOYED MYSELF AS DID MY NIECES. WE WON'T EVER FORGET OUR SUMMER TOGETHER!!!
nothing is elegant there. it's more cottage charming and the bathrooms are old fashioned, but hey, I was able to shower. and if a bidet is your thing you're in luck! lol
I would recommend this house again for sure. I hope to stay again since I only live 20 minutes away (sans bugs lol). thanks for a wonderful time!!
if you have a disability with walking or climbing stairs be aware of stairs up to the front door, in the garage, going down to the pool. my father had a hard time, but we managed to get him up there!!
