Here’s a home just steps away from the razzle-dazzle of the West End. This chic townhouse is grade 2 listed, and filled with exceptional art. It’s been carefully restored, and behind the quietly opulent furniture, much of the carpentry is bespoke. Outside, the crowds buzz around Covent Garden Opera House, actors dash from their theatres for a post-matinee sandwich, and you may catch a movie star or two on their way to a premiere in nearby Leicester Square. But inside, like any Hollywood star, or matinee idol, this two bedroom, two bathroom home is long, lean and awfully good looking.

Your host is a leading lawyer, and he and his family divide their time between London and their family home in Wiltshire. He took great care in New Row’s restoration, and, as you’ll see, that attention to detail has been carried over into every aspect of their home.

On the program

New Row is spread across five floors, beginning on the first floor with an open plan kitchen and dining room. Here, you’ll find an original fireplace and a handy writing desk alongside an antique dining table seating six, and some vibrant floral art. The kitchen’s fashionable in dove grey and marble, and filled with handy appliances - some so new that you may be the first person to use them.

Upstairs, the sitting room’s filled with cosy chairs upholstered in theatrical reds, and the original fireplace features tiles in matching scarlet. Switch on the TV, or pop your iPod in the dock and browse your host’s collection of books. Head up again to find a wood panelled twin bedroom with views out onto the cobbled street below, and a bathroom in gleaming white, stuffed with our fluffy white towels and a cache of White Company Toiletries. The master bedroom is at the very top of the house, with another bright white bathroom, and a king-sized wooden sleigh bed.

You’re just seconds from Covent Garden Piazza, the city’s top spot for dining out – there are cafes, bars and restaurants at every turn. Shop in the network of backstreets that fan out from Seven Dials - here you’ll find some of Europe’s leading designers, as well as all your favourite brands. Home Truths: -This is a lovely tall townhouse with five floors, therefore there are a lot of stairs in the home. -The fantastic location of this property-right in the heart of the city, does mean there is level of street noise to be heard in the sitting room. And as the city is continuously being improved, on occasion roadworks can occur close by. -This wonderfully located home is not suitable for and babies or children below 6.
