Hammersmith & Fulham Apartment Rental Photos and Description
Soak up the atmosphere in artistic 4-bedroom, 3-bathroom home in urbane Fulham
Setting the canvas
Fulham is a remarkably family-orientated area, with beautiful parks, shops that appeal to the young and young at heart alike, and a general sense of fun. The scrummy cafes and charming streets suggest at a part of London that’s both connected to a thriving modern city and a self-contained and peaceful village. This four bedroom home with a beautiful park-like private garden offers oodles of space and style, plenty of room for children, and some arrestingly arty touches too.
Portrait of the owners
Your hosts are a modern and cheerful duo. She is an American-Lebanese photographer, and he is an Anglo-Frenchman who works in finance. They have lived in London off and on for all their lives, but adore Fulham for its central location and its varied and colourful scene. They love spending their time at home entertaining or playing with their children, in the family room, or the garden.
A private view
The spacious living room is at the centre of the home, with its bay windows, chic black shutters and stunning black marble table, not to mention the old-fashioned trunks and wide array of books. There’s even a piano for those afternoon recitals. Next door is a massive open-plan kitchen and playroom, stuffed with toys, family ornaments, and quirky touches. There’s also an enormous dining table, perfect for late-night soirees. Little ones will love the vast garden, complete with suitably impressive wooden climbing frame.
Upstairs is a substantial master bedroom, festooned with more art books and black and white photos, as well as an invitingly super-king sized bed. The ensuite is decked out in limestone, and boasts a number of shells acquired on your hosts’ travels. The spare bedroom boasts a sleigh bed and a writing desk, as well as another ensuite bathroom. Carry on up to the second floor and you’ll find the children’s bedrooms. One has a dashingly piratical theme to it, softened by the monkeys and bears around, and the other is perfect for a very little one, complete with Beatrix Potter books and a yacht-themed ceiling hanger. The family bathroom next door is gleaming white, and features plenty of rubber ducks to play with.
The local picture
Micklethwaite Road is near to both Fulham Broadway and Earl’s Court. Should your family like football, Stamford Bridge is a short stroll away, or if their interests are more sedate then they’ll love the bijou cafes, toyshops and boutiques of Fulham and the nearby King’s Road. The nearby Harwood Arms is the only Michelin-starred pub in London, while for grander excitements, the West End is around twenty minutes by tube from Fulham Broadway station.
