Overview

Soho House Rental Photos and Description

Forgive Me, Father…

Neon lights gleaming through grey winter evenings, long-legged ladies strutting their stuff in dim alleyways, instruments of pain and pleasure ‘neath scarlet awnings... That said, should the delights of the flesh begin to pall, Soho has evolved to satisfy the full range of human desires. This is where the media boys and girls come to cafes to write their novels, where scruffy-haired web designers rub shoulders with West End chorus girls grabbing a quick bite to eat before returning to their dressing rooms.

Brewer Street is one of Soho’s main arteries, and our one double-bedroomed home combines faded voluptuousness with all the mod cons you could possibly desire.

Fallen Angels

Our host and hostess are Soho-ites to the core, with lifestyles the rest of us can only envy. He’s an entrepreneur, clean cut, well-travelled, who’s been ensnared by the lure of the seedy. She’s a journalist with a serious food habit. Between them, they’ve created a home that’s darkly glamorous; from the violently-coloured liquids in the host’s collection of decanters, to the kitchen’s lingering scent of truffle oil, this pair know how to enjoy themselves.

Naughty, Naughty

From the moment your foot hits the staircase and you creak your way into the scarlet embrace of the sitting room, you’ll be falling for Brewer Street, never has a home been so immediately intoxicating. Survey the high ceilings, the antique furniture, the sumptuous curtains, and if you feel a little bit proud of yourself, it’s perfectly understandable.

The flat is newly renovated, but that’s not to say the character’s been wiped away. The floorboards squeak, the windows clunk, and there’s even an original open fireplace for when the London chill begins to bite. When sloth takes you in her arms, drift up the stairs for a soak in the bath, before retreating to the spacious, peaceful double bedroom. Luxuriate in our five star bed linen, before closing the curtains and… well, we won’t ask…

No Rest For The Wicked

Whether you’re spending your cash, or just indulging in a bit of window shopping, Soho’s range of funky boutiques will have plenty on display for you to covet. Carnaby Street still swings, if a little more sedately than it did in the sixties, and the great department stores of Oxford Street are within a short walk.

For those wishing to indulge in a little light lustfulness, well, this is Soho, where all things are on offer. That said, despite the peep shows, the area is not without its romance. Stumble to your front door as the sun rises and watch the watery light reflecting off the cobbles, or duck into one of the many restaurants and cafes and get gluttonous with some extravagant cream cakes.

In fact, the only sin you probably won’t experience is wrath. Until, that is, we ask you to return the keys…

About Owner / Property Manager

onefinestay gives you the chance to stay in someone's place while they're out of town. You get to live their life for a few days and nights.

Booking a stay is as easy as booking a hotel room. And there's service to match.

Nobody wants to be a tourist, so our homes come with recommendations from the people who live in them. For everything else, we're here 24/7.

Why Owner / Property Manager chose Soho

Soho – an untidy warren of West End streets and alleys bounded by Oxford Street, Shaftesbury Avenue, Regents Street and the Charing Cross Road - is today known for innovative fine dining, media-centric members bars and a run of gay pubs and bars on Old Compton Street, the closest London comes to Castro Street. And it’s pretty close.

Soho is the effective centre of the British film industry and there are still dozens of gone-digital post-production houses here. It also has a good measure of advertising and PR agencies, all of which gives Soho – despite an unnerving sense that it psychically stuck in its 1980s glory days - an undeniable glamour and a certain swagger.

And if hipster London is now way east of here, there are still a smattering of cool boutiques. Even Carnaby Street, and the newly fangled ‘Newburgh Quarter' isn’t quite the stretch of exploitative tat it once was. And if you include Liberty in the mix, Soho can claim the best department store in town.

What makes this house unique

Booking a stay is as easy as booking a hotel room, with online payment and confirmation. You get the same attention to detail and personal service too.

Every home is properly cleaned before and after you stay, beds made (we can even do hospital corners) and bathrooms kitted out with luxury toiletries. There’s a maid service if you want it, as well as other hotel-style amenities.

Once we’ve helped you settle in, we’re just a call away, 24/7. If it’s something we can’t solve over the phone, we’ll pop over to lend a hand.

And because nobody wants to be a tourist, our homes come with personal and unique recommendations from the people who live in them – places to eat, things to do and adventures to go on.

Notes:
A welcome pack will be provided on arrival and an iPhone will be available for you during the duration of your stay. Home truths: The apartment is in a Georgian townhouse which is over 200 years old. With age comes character, but also wonky floors and some slightly cranky plumbing. That said, there’s plenty of hot water, a power shower, and a newly fitted bathroom. This is Soho, two minutes from Piccadilly Circus, so you can hear sounds from the street after dark, particularly in the front room. The bedroom is at the back on the top floor and therefore a lot quieter. (Though on a clear morning you can just make out the chimes of Big Ben if you have good ears.) The upstairs study is out of bounds to guests. There is some building work in progress on the adjacent block. They work Mon-Sat from 8:30am. It's not too loud, especially with the windows closed, but it may bother light sleepers. This home doesn't have air-conditioning, so ask us if you'd like to have fans for your stay.
