Located at the top of Richmond Hill on one of Richmonds' most exclusive roads, this spacious apartment of 70m2 has recently been redecorated and renovated with a brand new kitchen and high quality furnishings. The flat occupies the ground and lower ground floor of this beautiful period building. The large living room is on the ground floor, with high ceilings and polished wooden floors, there is ample seating, a dining area and a large Led television with Virgin Media and a super fast broadband connection. The compact kitchen is fully equipped with all modern conveniences, and high quality Siemens appliances including an electric fan oven, induction hob, microwave and instant kettle. A spiral staircase takes you to the lower ground floor where there is the very large double bedroom with very comfortable King size bed and white Egyptian cotton bedding from the White company. The bathroom has a large bath, a separate shower and WC. There is also a utility storage room with washer dryer.

Larger than average for a one bedroom flat, the high ceilings and well proportioned rooms make this duplex flat a very comfortable place to stay. The upstairs living room has huge windows from its former shop frontage which make the flat feel light and airy. The fact the bedroom is on the lower ground floor means that it is very peaceful. There are light panels in the floor that let light in from above and high level windows so even though there are no direct views from below this floor is lit naturally.

Located in the heart of Richmond Village at the top of Richmond Hill, a short walk from the beautiful terrace gardens and Richmond Park, and a 5 minute walk into Richmond town centre, the apartment is in a highly desirable and exclusive location. Richmond is London's most attractive borough, and is renowned for its village like atmosphere, beautiful green spaces, great shopping and riverside bars and restaurants. For hundreds of years it has been a favourite retreat of Royalty, the rich and the famous and remains one of the nicest places to live in the capital. Richmond lies 12 miles south west of central London yet a fast train from London Waterloo will bring you here in 15 minutes. The station is about a 10 minute walk from the flat, but there is a bus service as well.

The River Thames runs through the heart of the borough, linking Hampton Court Palace, Richmond town centre and Kew Gardens with central London. With beautiful Royal parks and historic houses, theatres, museums and galleries rich with exhibits and town centres bursting with shops and restaurants, Richmond upon Thames is a great location from which to enjoy the sights of London.

The property itself is located at the top of a residential road, just a few steps from all the amenities of the village which include a fantastic natural butcher which serves up delicious bacon baps over the week-end, the Richmond Village Bakery, a gourmet delicatessen, newsagent, off license, pub, convenience store and pharmacy. A walk down the hill and you are amidst the exclusive shopping of Richmond and its waterfront bars and cafes, and the station with its fast rail link to Waterloo, and District tube line. Richmond Park in on your doorstep where you can see deer, walk and cycle. The view from the Terrace is a classic painted by Turner and protected from any visible construction. Views across the winding river and towards Ham House are awe inspiring and it is one of the only places in London that you can see cows freely grazing. The Terrace Gardens lead to the River Thames and also to Petersham Nurseries with its wonderful cafe and top class restaurant.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely flat in Richmond. It is very comfortably designed with all modern conveniences. The spiral staircase leading to bedroom and bathroom below is a very creative touch. The location of the flat is excellent for exploring the historic and beautiful Borough of Richmond. A bakery, butcher, grocer, convenience store, and pub with an excellent dining room are located just around the corner. Our host, Claire, was very helpful in providing us with all the information we needed and answering all our questions. Thank you for a lovely London holiday!

One of the most desirable areas in Richmond

This apartment has been cleverly refurbished and sits in the
heart of Richmond Hill - one of the most desirable areas in
Richmond. The excellent shops, bars and resturants in
Richmond are just a 10 minute walk away and supermarkets
include M&S, Waitrose and Tesco. There is a butcher, wine
shop, deli and convenience store 30 steps from the flat.
There are good connections to central London with both
mainline trains and underground links. The nearest gate to
Richmond Park is about 5 mins walk away - a run through the
park (full of deer) is invigorating and peaceful.

The flat itself is well equipped - although small, the
kitchen has quality appliances and a small dishwasher (often
missing in london flats) and works perfectly if you make the
most of the ready to cook quality fare offered by British
supermarkets, particularly M&S and Waitrose. It has an
automatic water boiler, so making a cup of tea or coffee
takes no time at all. The bedroom is large and the bed
comfortable. There is a separate laundry room with washing
machine. Virgin media TV was a bonus, because it has a
catch-up service and as we needed to work, the wifi was
invaluable. We would definitely recommend this flat for a
couple looking to explore London.

With regard to restaurants nearby, I would highly recommend
the "Rock and Rose" restaurant - a 15 min walk (or short
taxi ride) away. The decor is super funky, the atmoshpere
convivial, the food excellent and reasonably priced. The
Pub in the village a minute from the flat (the Marlborough)
held promise, but ultimately the food was very poor and the
service non existent - there are better places in Richmond.

Would rent this flat again

Apartment was in great condition - very clean, new everything, nice layout in that living was separate from bedroom. Location is the heart of richmond hill. Terrific for a 4 day rental between moving from one flat to another. Owner was very accessible and keen to answer any questions. Would rent this flat again if I had need.

Great apartment in super location!

The apartment is everything it claims to be; my hubby was being treated at the Royal Marsden in Sutton and decided this apartment was the most suitable for our needs.

As it transpired, he was very tired and the chaise was superb for him to nap,whilst I could still watch the tv (Wimbledon!). The kitchen was excellent though some larger wine glasses would be good.

The bedroom is enormous & peaceful. My only gripe would be the minimal amount of space where the loo is - probably fine if you're a skinny!

The location is fab; fantastic butcher opposite with the best steak ever, and a great deli next door. The bakery sells gorgeous cakes and the Marlborough had good beer & food. We also ate at the Red Cow which is a nice stroll from the apartment, as is the riverside where I can recommend the fish & chips!

Parking is only available on meter outside the flat, but you can park easily enough about 200m away.
