Have the ever-increasing crowds at the usual beach resort areas been ruining your vacations?

If so, then escape to the unspoiled, scenic Outer Banks of North Carolina -- and the quaint seaside village of Duck. Here you'll find our enchanting home, Jessica's Dune, which sits atop a high sand dune, and is only 475 yards from the warm, gulf stream waters of the Atlantic Ocean.

There are completely unobstructed and panoramic views of the Currituck Sound from the west deck and outdoor Jacuzzi. The sunsets are simply spectacular.

The house is bright, fully equipped, and decorated as a true home -- not just a rental property. Special features include hardwood floors, oriental rugs, and cozy, comfortable leather furniture surrounding a gas-burning fireplace.

All the conveniences of a typical home are provided including HDTV, Wi-Fi, DVD player, a CD-stereo, and books -- allowing for a truly peaceful and relaxing vacation!

Sheets and pillowcases are provided but towels are not. They can be rented for a nominal charge from Sun Realty. We do provide pillows, blankets, mattress covers, and comforters. Guests should also plan on bringing paper towels, soaps and detergents, and toilet paper.

Note: Smoking is completely prohibited anywhere on the property, indoors or outdoors.

Great beach vacation at a great beach house!

Our family, two adults and two young adults, at the time ages 19 and 22, stayed at Jessica’s Dune in Duck, N.C. for a week in August 2009. We had a wonderful time! We loved the property, situated right down the street from the spectacular ocean with great views from the deck. Everything was fine and we had no complaints. Things were clean and the house was well stocked with whatever we needed. I had a nice conversation with the owner prior to our visit and he was most welcoming. Sun Realty had everything ready when we arrived and there were no glitches. There was also plenty to do in the area from going out to dinner, sightseeing, golfing, or renting a catamaran….all of which we did. In addition, having some well-deserved, and necessary, “R and R” time at the beach with the family was priceless. This home was a great beach house to stay at, with plenty of room for all of us. Memories of sitting on the deck, enjoying appetizers and drinks after a beautiful beach day makes me want to go back right now! We had a great beach vacation at a great beach house. We would highly recommend Jessica’s Dune to anyone. Someday we certainly hope to re-visit:)

Quiet and Comfortable

We have rented numerous vacation homes over the years and this was one of the better ones. It was very comfortable, clean, and appeared well-maintained. The kitchen was well stocked and orderly, the beds were comfortable, and the living area was spacious. (Even our bird, that we brought along, seemed to enjoy himself.) The only problem we experienced when we arrived was that a screen that had been blown out by the wind, which we easily put back. The views of sunsets were spectacular, and it is an easy walk to the beach. In short, our group had a wonderful time at Jessica's Dune and we would definitely consider staying there again when we are in the OBX area.

It was a nice house, too far to the beach excess, We found maggots and had to call to get some one to take care of this. it was taken care of that day but it riuned the rast of the week for us.
Owner's Response: I spoke with my management company regarding the report of maggot infestation. According to their computer auto-dated records, a call was received on the sixth day of their seven day stay to report the condition. Someone was dispatched that same day to take care of the problem. The problem was isolated in one door frame to the outdoors. I also spoke with the bug company and they assured me that all evidence of the problem was removed that very same day.

Maggots are simply larvae that hatch from the eggs of an ORDINARY HOUSEFLY less than 24 hours from the time that they are laid. One fly can, and does, lay millions of eggs. All it takes is for one door to be opened for a fly to get in and do her thing. The presence of maggots, despite the common misperception and the nasty-sounding name, is NOT an indication of dead or decaying bodies like those in a horror movie, the sanitary nature of a home, nor its state of cleanliness. The house was clean and there was no infestation when they arrived. It's hard to imagine how this could truly "ruin the rest of their stay" especially since all of this information was passed on to these guests at the time of the service call. This is no ones fault; it does not indicate anything negative about my home; it was remediated as fast as humanly possible at my expense.

The distance to the beach access is exactly as advertised: 400 m. Ours is the twelfth house back from the ocean and directly across the street from the Sound.

Loved Jessica's Dune!

My stay at Jessica's Dune was wonderful. The bad weather stayed away until the last day of vacation. My two small children (Ages 2 and 7), loved staying at the house, it has beautiful views. On one side is the sound and the other side(down the street) is the beach. We crossed the street to go to the sound where the kids could play on the beach and walked down the street to the ocean and another beach.

The house was exactly what I was looking for. I needed something affordable, I love the outer banks, and my children are great little travelers, but my husband and I are in education and have to budget carefully. We were able to get away, a place near the beach, with a hot tub! The house is not a brand new house and is not beach front property, but it is priced accordingly and has everything needed for us to cook at the house. (Going out to eat with two little kids is not as much fun as it sounds.)

We could easily ride our bikes into Duck on the bike path. Very convenient to the wonderful town of Duck. The Outer Banks is my favorite beach in N.C. and my favorite thing to do is go to Jockey's Ridge--don't miss it.

Beautiful home-Perfect Location-Gorgeous Sunsets

I have stayed with my wife and our two 2 year olds for two weeks at Jessica's Dune and we had a phantastic experience. The house was in perfect condition, clean, homy and inviting, the new playroom a joy. The house is literally only steps from the beach, which makes it extremely convenient, particularly with little kids. The late afternoons/evenings on the big wrap around veranda provided an unbelievable unobstructed view on the sound and the spectacular sunset, which became a family event every night. We also had my in-laws visiting us for 5 days and the house was more than spacious enough to accommodate all of us. The location, a mile from Duck and just a few miles from Corolla, is as convenient as one can imagine. Lastly, Jay, the owner, greeted us by welcome call when we arrived and made sure we knew we could always reach him should we need anything. The only thing we feel could be improved would have been to get a better bbq than the one installed and move it for safty reasons to the front of the house. but, that being the biggest issue, I can only wholeheartedly recommend this property.
