This fabulous loft-style apartment is in a typical Niçoise turn-of-the-century building in the centre of the Old Town of Nice - it is very charming and authentic. From the original wooden beams, shutters, stone walls and domed entry ways you are whisked away to another era. Located just behind the famous flower market and the Cours Saleya, you have everything on your doorstep: the beach is a few seconds away; the butcher, the baker, and candlestick maker are just around the corner; nightlife and local boutiques surround you. Your mornings will be filled perusing the farmers market where you can sample the local produce for lunch. An antiques market is held every Monday. The port and tramway are about 5 minutes by foot, the main high street shopping area 7 minutes, the train station 15 minutes by foot or grab the tramway and be there in 5. But what is so remarkable about this apartment is that despite being in the centre of the Old Town it is perfectly tranquil - here you will really have the best of all worlds!

BUILDING:

Located in a typical Niçoise turn-of-the-century building - very charming. There is nothing but authenticity surrounding you. From the original wood beams, shutters, stonewalls and domed entryway you are whisked away to a time unknown.

The apartment is on the 2nd floor with no lift.

NEIGHBOURHOOD:

In the center of the liveliest part of Nice; just behind the famous flower market and the Cours Saleya in the heart of Old Town.

The beach is a few seconds away. The butcher, the baker, and candlestick maker are just around the corner. Nightlife and local boutique shopping surrounds you. Your mornings will be filled perusing the farmers market where you may grab the local produce for the day’s lunch. The Antiques market is held every Monday.

The port and tramway are about 5 minutes by foot, the main high street shopping area 7 minutes, the train station 15 minutes by foot or grab the tramway and be there in 5. The train and buses take you to Cannes to the West of Nice, or or as far as Italy to the East. Buses are convenient and offer you the whole Cote d’Azur at your fingertips for only €1 one way

LIVING AREA:

Living area is open plan to kitchen and dining area. It has a 4 metre cathedral ceiling with large French windows which open onto the internal exterior space of the building. This offers a very unique and pleasant tranquility almost unheard of in the Old Town of Nice!! This rare position offers views of the ancient inner walls and your French neighbor’s tumbling flower vines. Not one window faces out onto the main street, meaning no noise from late night revelers.

There are 2 high quality sofas, seating 4-5 people, 2 yarn bean bags, and 2 small armchairs - plenty of comfortable seating for the adults and kids! A large flat screen TV of about 100cm, DVD player, iPod dock (ipod player and music pre loaded), wifi, phone, and French cable TV.

There are plenty of DVD’s, games and books to keep the family entertained.

KITCHEN:

The kitchen is spacious, modern and fully equipped. You will find a washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, oven, ceramic hob, and an integrated full sized fridge-freezer; complimented with an additional small separate drinks fridge for your wine and champagne!

The convivial dining area is bar styled and integrated with the kitchen countertop, and easily fits 6, seating provided by 6 backless barstools. The dining area separates the living room and kitchen.

BEDROOMS

On the main floor you will find the 1st bedroom freshly decorated in hues of purple and beige. A double 140cm bed, with faux leather headboard, and two deep purple side reading lamps adorn the space. Beautiful natural hardwood furniture drawers, stand up closet, and side tables finish off the look. A full length mirror is available, a stand up fan and heavy curtains which are sure to tempt you to sleep in! All bedrooms are equipped with air conditioning.

Bedrooms 2 and 3 are on the 2nd floor in a cool modern loft style. Both bedrooms have sliding glass doors that offer flexibility -- either open them for the typical ‘open loft’ feel or close them for privacy and child safety.

Original 18 century wood beams grace the ceilings throughout the loft. In the 2nd upstair bedrooms be aware the beams stand at 160cm & 155cm high.

There are stackable square shelving in both rooms as well as a stand-up closet, a full length mirror, side tables, reading lamps, and and a stand up fan as well. Both upstair bedrooms are as charming; each with their own style of modern French country decor.

BATHROOM & WC:

There are 2 toilets, 1 WC and 1 full bathroom. The main bathroom has 2 sinks, a toilet, and an extra large walk-in shower for 2. High powered hair dryers and a towel warmer are available for your use.

Fantastic location in Nice!

Our family of 6 (4 adults and 2 small children) stayed at this lovely apartment in Old Town and it is very nice. The décor is lovely and the location can't be beat. Very clean and tidy. It is in a quiet interior location in the building (no views, but I could see the streets being noisy at night anyway). The flower market is just steps away and has unlimited options for dining and FRESH produce/food. The beach is only a couple of blocks away as well. Dana (property manager) was great to work with and very accommodating. The only item to note is that this apartment is not super kid-friendly. The stairs leading to the upstairs bedrooms do not have a rail and are open to the main floor. There are also large sliding glass doors in the upstairs bedrooms without any protection to keep children from falling out. We kept our children confined to the main floor to be safe. There are some head bonkers in the upstairs bedrooms for the adults since the ceilings are so low (if you are over 6 feet tall, you will be bending over in the bedrooms). All of us cracked our heads on the beams at some point during our stay, but we probably deserved it being crazy, stupid Americans in France! This is a really great property and a good value in a very expensive town!

Très bien situé

Nous étions six adultes pour un séjour de six nuits. L'appartement est très bien situé, restaurants, plage et transport public sont à la portée de la main. Oui le plafond des chambres à l'étage est bas, mais on s'habitue. Etant donné que nous étions six adultes, une salle de bain complète était un problème, mais avec un peu de planification, on y arrive. Mais il y a une toilette séparée qui aide. La gestionnaire de la propriété, Dana, est fantastique. Nos transferts de l'aéroport et vers la gare était à temps et très efficace. Nous recommandons cette propriété sans problème, pour une clientèle avertie, et nous y retournerions aussi sans problème.
