Nice House, Questionable Hot Tub
We rented this house for our annual trip to Wolf Creek. I thought the house was actually nicer than the pictures led me to believe. The beds were comfy, the furniture is nice, very tidy, etc. It's close to the slopes and right in town which is very convenient. And the owners were very responsive, even calling me ahead of time to tell me everything was ready for my stay and to let them know if we needed anything.
The only disappointment was that the hot tub didn't really work and the "sauna" is effectively a marginally warm room on the deck. I get that the hot tub cools down when not in use to save money but after two calls with the owner over two days, we couldn't get it to warm up. One guy on the trip is a bit of a guru with hot tubs, and on the last night he finally got it to hit 100 degrees, not hot but warm enough to get in. And this is after messing with it for days. A hot tub is a critical aspect to a proper ski trip in my opinion, and was a big driver of us picking this place so it was a major let down. Maybe the owners will upgrade their equipment to prevent this in the future. Everything else was great.
Owner's Response: It was a pleasure having Steve and his family stay at our home in South Fork, Colorado. Thank you for the beautiful compliments about the proeprty.
Again, we apologize for the issues with the hot tub and completely agree that it is a critical part of the property, a professional was sent out to the property to check out the hot tub, apparently the heater motor had gone out. The part is on order and should be resolved before the next set of renters arrive. We thank you and appreciate your comments. We take each and every comment very seriously and resolve issues immediately. We hope to see you back again someday and proove to you that any hot tub issue you had has been resolved.
Best regards,
