24 of us, ages 1 to 90, spent the holidays together in this lovely home. Lots of space for everyone but also enough room for everyone to eat and spend time together. The teens loved the 3rd floor. Lots of dishes,glasses, utensils,ect. available in the home. The property was clean and nicely furnished. Not a new home so there was some wear and tear but nothing that disturbed our stay and the owners said they were doing some maintance after we left, during the slow season. We loved the area, it was easy to get around, and was just a short distance to Charleston.

Beautiful place, grouchy owner

My family has rented the Mansion on the Beach twice now and though we all have loved the house, we have found the owner/renter extremely difficult to work with on both occassions. I would recommend looking elsewhere, beautiful homes for rent are a dime a dozen, I'm sure you can find one with an accommodating owner.
Owner's Response: We have been listing on this web site and its predecessors for 9 years, and this is the first criticism.

This writer never told us that we were grouchy or difficult. In fact, this group returned for a second time and wanted to come back for a third. 2009 would have been their third time. We did not accept them for 2009, because they left the property damaged and in disarry. I believe this rejection is the reason for the adverse comments.
