LEISURE TIME VACATION HOME

Rented this house for the week of June 2-9, 2012 for family vacation. Our family truly enjoyed ourselves on our vacation, a bi-annual event to be at the beach with our sister from Charleston. Was our 4th rental of house (2nd under current owners). Love the layout & location of house. Sadly disappointed in condition this year.

The pictures of the house on the website are certainly misleading. Here's some of what we found:
1. Food was left in the refrigerator and freezer.
2. Microwave was dirty inside.
3. No floors were swept or washed.
4. Furniture could not have been moved for months – actual dirt (not just dust) and misc. items in corners & especially under beds.
5. Dirty bowls in cupboard.
6. Pots & pans should be thrown away, the coatings are ruined and not safe.
7. No safety strips in bathtubs.
8. One bathroom had a moldy shower curtain.
9. The same bedspreads are on the beds since 2006 (our first visit). The skirting on some beds is actually shredding it’s so old.
10. Found a pair of men’s undershorts under one bed.
11. Laundry room needs a thorough cleaning out: Refrigerator is moldy, Toilet rocks, not bolted firmly to floor, many broken items.
12. The umbrella for the front outside deck table is broken. The other umbrella in the laundry room doesn’t fit any table in the house.

I’m sure you get the picture. As I said, our family loves the house itself and we had a marvelous vacation, but the house needs to be updated & maintained better. We did some on-line searching while we were in Folly Beach and went to see several other houses within the same price range. Not one other house we walked through was in the same condition.

My family and friends really enjoyed our vacation on Folly Beach this past week. We were able to experience great things such as fishing, crabbing, swimming in the waves and bike riding then come back to the house to relax. The layout of the house worked well for the adults and kids, the kids spent most of their relaxing time on the front porch after dark and the adults used the carport to cook, eat, and feel the breeze from the beach. Each one of us really hated to see the week come to an end. Each one of us adopted this house as our very own. This house is a place we all would return to.

The house was right across the street from the beach and within walking distance to the pier and shops. The bedrooms were a good size. It had everything you needed for week away - grills, washer & dryer, internet, a beautiful sunroom and front deck. Plenty of room to either be sociable or to get away from the crowd. We really enjoyed it.
