Overlooking the River Thames, this modern, bright and spacious 2+ bedroom flat is a comfortable and secure base to explore London and the surrounding countryside. There are great amenities including 24-hour concierge, fitness centre, communal roof garden and underground parking. Situated near the centre of historic Kingston-upon-Thames, it offers flexible accommodation for up to five people.

The flat is part of the gated, exclusive Charter Quay development, directly adjacent to Kingston town centre, with its large pedestrian zone, excellent shopping (including the Bentall Centre mall), Ancient Market Area, and many restaurants.

The flat has a private balcony which overlooks the courtyard cafés and restaurants and the River Thames, which is lovely on a warm sunny evening.

Kingston train station is a 10 minute walk away and provides regular service to Wimbledon (journey time 12 minutes) and London Waterloo (journey time 25 minutes). Trains into London, run every 15 minutes. There is also excellent bus service to Heathrow and many other destinations.

Kingston itself has great shops from high street chain stores in the Bentall Centre shopping mall to small independent boutiques and quirky stores. There are loads of restaurants within 2 - 5 minutes walk from the flat, such as Wagamama, Carluccio's, Jamie's Italian, Riverside Vegetaria, Byron, and much more. The Rose Theatre is located across the courtyard from the flat which is perfect for plays and musicals. The flat is in a great location for easy access to Richmond Park, Bushy Park, Hampton Court Palace, Hampton Court Golf Club, Wimbledon Tennis, Rose Theatre, central London and all it's great restaurants, theatres, culture and attractions.

Brilliant and flawless experience

I generally don't bother writing reviews but I felt this place really deserved one. It is 'as advertised'. The owner has taken good care of this home and made for a very enjoyable week. It was clean and well kept. As a native born Kingstonian, I would say this is in one of the best locations in Kingston, and close enough to transport if you want to head to the centre of London. There is so much available in just walking distance. We have really enjoyed this place and would definitely book it again if I had to come back to London for a week.

Mixed feelings

My father, husband & I stayed here for 8 nights. The apt. was booked in April 2013 and Pam had enough notice for the apt. to be clean upon arrival. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case...a dirty and smelly fridge greeted us upon arrival! The smell emanating from it was horrendous. My husband and I spent close to two hours cleaning it, (soaking shelves, edging, freezer drawer, etc.). The shelves had stuck on crud, as well as, the edging. One door shelf had dried curdled milk. This was brought to Pamela's attention within an hour of us arriving. Pam offered to send a cleaner in the next day, however, we had things to put in the fridge immediately. Pam...the cleaning should have been done prior to our arrival, not afterwards! There were some other cleaning concerns such as the bathroom fans, mold in the washer & brita filter, the kettle filled with mineral deposits, (Pam replaced this), etc.! We were quite upset that we had to take time to do a deep down clean...this took away from our time to settle into the apt. Pam refused to listen to us and used the "broken record" technique when we spoke with her, "Most people are pleased with the cleaning person. She may have forgotten to wipe the fridge down". It was the dirtiest fridge we have ever seen and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months.
On a positive note, we enjoyed the apt. location...overlooking the Thames, covenience to pubs, eateries, shops, the river, secure parking. Everthing just a walk away! The beds were in good shape and comfortable, as well as, the bathrooms. One drawback of the location is the noise the courtyard generates from the outdoor patios and wafts of cigarettes from smokers sitting outside. Windows were shut when this happened.
It is unfortunate that Pam didn't take the time to look over the apt. prior to our arrival. A person who will perform a deep down clean, not a "surface cleaner", in between guests would have been appreciated. Hopefully, no other vacationers will have to experience what we did. Photos have been taken to verify the above information.
The concierge staff were excellent to deal with and Pam was good at responding to messages and providing details.

Owner's Response: We have taken the time to ensure that the cleaners always clean the flat to a very high standard. My family stays here for a few weeks each year, we have high standards of cleanliness and we do our best to ensure the same standards are met for every guest that stays.
We've been renting the flat for a few years now and have several guests that return for multiple stays because they enjoyed it so much.
The property has received many positive & glowing reviews on another holiday rental website, which we'd be happy to send a link to for any enquiring guests. Fabulous!

My family rented this wonderful apartment for four nights and will definitely be returning. The flat was clean, well equipped and in an excellent location. Above and close to numerous restaurants, pubs and coffee shops it was difficult trying to decide where to dine each evening - far too much choice! Situated right in the heart of Kingston and within a 5 mins walk of John Lewis!
10 mins walk to the train station for an easy journey up to London.
Secure underground parking, super king sized comfortable beds. The owners have made this apartment a home away from home. Great views of the river Thames from the balcony with rowers, swans and joggers passing by... a lovely atmosphere.

After 40 years of extensive traveling and 20 years of travel consulting, I would put our one week stay at this lovely flat up with the best of them. If you are looking for that just out of London experience, this apartment in one of the few named "royal boroughs" of the United Kingdom - in the Thames front boutique town of Kingston Upon Thames - is a perfect fit. VIEW: Extraordinary. It blew us away when we went on the balcony - so let me set the scene. Immediately to the right - the Thames - with the ongoing entertaining regalia of scullers and rowers and boats - with ducks and perhaps a hundred swans. Immediately below is the Hogsmill tributary of the Thames going inland with small overbridges lined with flowers and more swans and ducks and a few cafes. The face of the Thames there is alive with wonderful restaurants and pubs. If there is noise at night, just shut the windows. LOCATION: The apartment is a minute from the historic Kingston market square dating from 1422 and beyond, and a minute from the major pedestrian shopping street. A 10 minute car ride or 40 minute lovely walk down the Thames is the famous Hampton Court, Henry VIII's "Versailles". The Cotswolds are a 2 hour drive. London is a 20 minute train ride. We had a car and the flat comes with protected parking. APARTMENT: It speaks volumes if owners use an apartment when in town which we were told is the case. As such, it is beautifully appointed and maintained from interiors to decor to kitchen ware. WORKING WITH PAMELA: Fantastic. Responsive, kind, smart. She lives in Kingston and is the daughter of the owners so truly knows and cares about the flat. The level of detail before our arrival to get us there logistically and welcome us was great. IN CONCLUSION: The spectacular sun filled living room and balcony on the ever changing scene of the Thames, in the best spot in Kingston upon Thames - and the high level and comfort of the flat - made us feel as for the week we were residents too and not just guests. This is a Kingston Upon Thames gem and we look forward to our return. Family from California.
