Fantastic house and enclosed garden with attractive sun room and deck and patio.

Ivybank is located close to the old harbour. The sea shore is only 15 yards from the Garden fence. All rooms have Sea Views. The House has been completely modernized. There is a large kitchen/dining room which is fully equipped. There are four Bedrooms that can sleep 8 in different configurations. (Two king size beds and four single beds. Two of the singles can be zipped together to form a Super Kingsize bed). Large lounge with log burning stove and flat screen TV. Wireless broadband available. There are two shower rooms (one with a bath) and a third WC on the top floor. There is a new ground floor sun room / family room with folding sliding doors opening onto a large deck and patio and attractive enclosed garden. There is private parking for two cars. Our first guests said the house was amazing and that they would be coming back. We know you too will fall in love with Ivybank.

St Monans is an ideal location to base yourself for a fantastic holiday. You will be close to the Blue Flag beaches at Elie (2 miles) and St. Andrews. It is also a short drive to a large number of great golf courses including the 'Old Course' at St Andrews (12 Miles). As well as the old fishing harbour in St Monans and the wonderful walks round the harbour and through the winding alleyways of the conservation village you are also only a brisk 15 minute walk to the harbour village of Pittenweem. By car or bus you can also visit the other harbour villages of Anstruther, Cellardyke and Crail. Many visitors will always gravitate to St Andrews with its many attractions to suit all tastes. Ivybank is a great base to enjoy the Fife Coastal Path which passes the house and through the countryside around the village. The famous 'Craig Miller' sea food restaurant, on the harbour side, is a 'must' to visit - but booking is essential. The Mayview Hotel and restaurant is also a great place to eat out within the village. The 'East Pier Smokehouse' is a popular place to buy fish and lobster to take away or eat in their small restaurant. You will find it by the east harbour wall in the Blue Painted building.

There is an oriental take away restaurant at the entrance to the village called the Wock & Spice. There are two village shops, one (the Spar) is only 100 yards from the house, both are well stocked. You will also be able to buy fresh fish from the wholesale fish market at the entrance to the village . There is a Hair and Beauty saloon at the entrance to Rose street. Most Guests will visit the Co-op supermarket in Anstruther for their main shopping or even the Safeway in St Andrews.

About Tara Scott

My wife and I are both retired. I was an HR Manager and my wife a teacher. We purchased Ivybank as a holiday home and a place we could settle down in as a Retirement Home when we eventually decide to move away from the home that we have lived in for many years and where we are close to our young grand children. When they no longer need the grandparents to baby sit we will move to the home that they like to visit by the sea.

We fell in love with Iveybank as soon as we saw it. It had great potential as a retirement home. We have worked heard to make it what it is today. As one guest said last year 'Sensational place to stay. Everything we needed was in the house which was extremely clean and fresh. Great views, a home away from home.

A wonderful garden; A sun room and deck (with folding/sliding doors) ; close to the sea with sea views from all rooms. A holiday home which one frequent visitor to Fife said was the best home she had ever stayed in.

Traditional sandstone house with large attractive garden, located in the Fife conservation fishing village of St. Monans, Close to the old harbour. The property has been fully refurbished, re-wired and and modernized. Perfect center for visiting Blue Flag beaches at Elie and St Andrews and many wonderful Golf courses. Sea wall is only 15 yards from garden wall and all rooms have sea views. Fife coastal path runs through Rose Street. Beautiful, enclosed private garden, a magnificent sun room with folding/sliding doors leading to a large deck and patio. Private parking for 2 cars. . Our first guest said. 'The house is amazing - loved the log burning stove. Sun room is a fantastic space - we will be back. From the 1740's the property was owned by the Miller family. James N. Miller and sons were the main employers in the area, building many fifer fishing boats as well as some famous old yachts. Sir Malcolm Cambell commissioned his first yacht 'Bluebird' with the Miller yard. The boat yard closed in 1992. Boat building is now part of St Monans' history but the village has many reminders of its fishing and boat building past. During our first year of letting in 2012 we achieved 17 weeks of occupancy and every guest left very complementary observations about ivybank which can be read in the guest book in the property Here are a few of them.

The website showed us what to expect but everything was exceeded. The house is fabulous, the garden is beautiful and the decking / sunroom - out of this world we have been coming to Fife and the East Nuek for 40 years and this is the best house we have ever stayed in. Hope to be back again soon.

We have enjoyed staying in this wonderful house, it has everything we needed. Great views from all rooms. We spent a lot of time in the sun room with the doors open listening to the sea.. Sensational place to stay. Your house has been amazingly well planned and well stocked. \everything we needed.
