Park your car and walk or cycle to all that Bar Harbor has to offer. Our house is private yet conveniently located just steps away from the largest grocery store on the island. Our house is so hidden most locals don't know about our little oasis.

The house is literally seconds away from Town Hall, a bike & kayak rental shop and natural food store. Within minutes by foot you can get to restaurants, pubs, coffee shops, museums, movie theatres, shops, whale watch and nature cruises. Many Acadia National Park trailheads are also just minutes away by bike. If you want to venture out of Bar Harbor to see the rest of the island, you can always catch one of the free Island Explorer buses at the Village Green.

There are few places left in this country where you can truly park your car and leave it for the duration of your stay.

Our 3 bedroom, 2 bath house is comfortably furnished. In addition to amenities like dishwasher, washer & dryer, cable TV, we also offer FREE WIFI.

About Shawn Robinette

We moved to Maine in 1997 from Seattle. We own and run a coffee shop/bakery in Southwest Harbor by the name of Milagro Coffee & Espresso.

Shawn Robinette purchased this house in 2005
Why Shawn Robinette chose Bar Harbor

Bar Harbor is a fun and exciting coastal village. We like the fact that you can park your car and walk or cycle to everything in town. You can also walk to many Acadia National Park trail heads or hop a ride on the free Explorer bus system. Once you see Mt. Desert Island in the summer and fall you will be hooked!

What makes this house unique

Again there a few places in the United States where you can truly park your car and not use it once during your vacation. Mt. Desert Island and Acadia National Park are great places to spend a lot of time enjoying what nature has to offer.

We had a great stay in Bar Harbor! The house was cozy and clean and had everything we needed for our family of four. The location is fantastic. You walk just everywhere in the Town Center and the nearby grocery makes grabbing dinner super convenient. We can't wait to return and hope to stay here again.

We stayed at this house for 5 nights and it was a good size for 4 adults. It is an older home with older but functional fixtures. The location is ideal for walking into Bar Harbour and for visiting Acadia National Park. As other people have said, the supermarket deliveries can be a little noisy in the early morning but the location more than makes up for it. We highly recommend the fish and chips at The Thirsty Whale pub.

We would stay here again if we were in the area.

The location of this house is ideal! You are a walk away from exploring the downtown shops, food shopping, enjoying the local pubs and restaurants, renting bicycles, kayaks...Cadillac Mtn is only a few miles away by car or you can reach the Acadia Carriage Road by bicycle 1-1/2 miles away.
The house itself has every amenity you could need. The only negative I can mention is the size of the showers. They are on the small size, yet functional. For the most part this house is very comfortable and welcoming. Owners are extremely responsive and helpful. We plan to return to this rental next time we are in Bar Harbor.

Lovely downtown home, gracious owners, but a bit noisy

We really enjoyed our stay in Bar Harbor. This home gave us easy walking access to Bar Harbor shops, parks, and restaurants. Quick drive into Acadia. House is directly behind large grocery store, which is convenient for shopping, but made the home a bit noisy. Nighttime and early AM deliveries made it a bit tough for our young children to sleep. There is no bathtub in the home, but a handheld shower head made it easy to bath our children. Our oldest loved the bunk beds. Owners provided a nice bottle of wine and fresh baked scones to help us fell very welcomed!
Recommended for:  Adventure Seekers
Owner's Response: Yes, if you are looking to stay right in downtown Bar Harbor be prepared to have the noise of a city. Although we are not located near the loud bars and restraurants there are deliveries to the store and if you haven't been to Maine before the locals get up with the sun which rises a little after 4am in the summer time.

For guests who do not want to be in the thick of things, we highly recommend one of our other properties.

Downtown Bar Harbor House

The Bar Harbor house is comfortable, out of the way but close to everything. We could walk downtown and to the grocery store (which we did everyday instead of going shopping only once). The house was clean and well maintained. I would recommend this property. The only drawback was the noise in the early morning hours from the back of the grocery store. We had a wonderful time and would rent this house again the next time we are in Bar Harbor.
