Although inhabited since prehistoric times and a Roman stronghold (Pujols comes from the Latin ‘Podium’) – the Pujols seen today is in essence 13th-14th century with its neo-gothic church, Colombage houses and remains of the Chateau and ramparts.
Villeneuve-sur-lot (4km) is a large ancient market town on the river in the heart of the valley of the Lot. There are some excellent restaurants and cafes, shops of all types, banks and theatre etc. Farmers markets are held on Tuesday and Saturday mornings with various produce of the region including local prunes and foie gras. Guestbook comments from the manager
We were lucky in that we had virtually sole use of the pool and bbq area as the guests in the house were rarely there. Gerard and Judith were very welcoming and we wish them the best of luck with future rentals.
