Villefranche-sur-Mer Apartment Rental Photos and Description
Spacious, balconies, 2 bedrooms/bathrooms, splendid view, refined
Once you have climbed the stairs to the top floor of this Old Town apartment, you enter a space of luminosity, calm and style. The dining room balconies offer a view of the beautiful Villefranche Bay (including the Cap Ferrat lighthouse) with picturesque village houses, roofs and gardens as foreground. From inside the apartment you will hear the muffled and cozy sounds of the village, but not noise from restaurants or bars. The bedrooms are equally calm, being located at the back, with windows onto a patio. Everything has been done to make your stay an aesthetic experience, such as the solid oak floorboards, the stylish kitchen, the harmonious dining area and the splendidly decorated bathrooms, all done in a sophisticated yet simple style to provide a harmonic and energizing stay. All this within a 2 minutes from cafés, 5 minutes from the beach and 7 minutes by train from Nice, in the most beautiful street of Villefranche Old Town.
The uniqueness of Villefranche sur Mer is that it is a true village sheltered from, but next door, to a city (Nice). Whereas Villefranche offers you intimacy, safety and calm, Nice offers a cosmopolitan, cultural and cool city life. Extraordinarily, the metropolis and the fishing village are separated only by a 7 minutes ride in one of the modern, comfortable, quiet and sleek Côte d’Azur trains.
As soon as you enter the old town you are struck by its calm and beauty. Living in the old town is slow and quiet. It is a perfect place for recharging your batteries after weeks or months of working. People here are friendly.
Villefranche living is outdoor living truly outdoor living. You may go for a swim in the morning and bring fresh croissants back for breakfast, or you may spend the better part of the day at the beach, with picnic or enjoy a good salad at one of the beach cafés. Or you may walk for 30-40 minutes to another beach and discover the Cap Ferrat. If you are in the mood for cooking, why not buy fresh fish from the local fisherman in the morning (he comes in with his boat at every morning) and leave it in the fridge for the evening meal? You may also simply go down to the water and look out over the bay at sunset. Villefranche is a place for many outdoor possibilities, and people work out their own favorite ways to spend time outdoor.
Villefranche is particularly well suited for those who like a bit of exercise. Even if you do not exercise regularly, the stairs alone will provide you with exercise ;-). Runners and walkers will be able to explore several possibilities. There are seaside paths around Cap Ferrat as well as from Villefranche towards Nice, which offer stunning scenic experiences.
There are several beaches within walking distance of Villefranche, each of which has its own character. The most popular one is of course the city beach along Promenade des Mariniéres
There are several safe areas for the children to play in the village. The beach is an obvious place for playing, and in addition there are several cliffs and rocks that make for fun in the water. Some kids will love just playing in the narrow pedestrian streets of the Old Town.
