Comfortable and practical apartments a short walk from the beach. The apartments are equipped with kitchen equipment, bed linen and towels. The apartments are still a good choice for a golfing holiday on the golf course in Porto Santo. Beach: Porto Santo is much more than its beach, but it is really impressive. Stretching over five miles along the southeast coast, from the port in the north to Calheta on the south, the beach is a long tongue of golden sands. Even during the summer months there is enough space for everyone and will always find a quiet spot if that is your preference. The turquoise sea is shallow and safe for swimming. There are a number of bars and cafes scattered along the beach in order to cool off. Spa: The sands of Porto Santo have been shown to be beneficial to health, and several hotels (all within 5-15 minutes walk from the apartment) have spas that offer a wide range of health care and well-being open to non-residents. At the Thalassotherapy Centre Hotel Vila Baleira can enjoy seawater treatments in pools and bathtubs as well as a variety of massages and beauty treatments. The Magic Garden Spa Pestana Porto Santo has a full selection of facilities and treatments for your well-being. The spa offers a sauna, steam room, Turkish bath, power shower, jacuzzi and an indoor pool with different jet streams, as well as a wide range of massages and exotic treatments. Just completed a new spa at the Hotel Porto Santo. In addition to a full range of saunas, Turkish bath and swimming pools also offer sand treatments that involve the body in hot baths therapy in the sands of Porto Santo. Flights: There will be direct flights from the UK to Porto Santo from May 2010. There are also many flights from UK to Madeira and up to five daily flights connecting Madeira to Porto Santo. Easyjet offers daily flights from London Gatwick and Stansted, and TAP and Thomson also fly from Gatwick. There are also several flights from regional airports, including Thomson of Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham, Newcastle, East Midlands, Cardiff, Luton, Bournemouth and Exeter. Thomas Cook and First Choice also fly from Manchester and Easyjet from Bristol. Flights between Madeira and Porto Santo (15 minutes) are operated by SATA. The Porto Santo Line also operates daily passenger boats (Sea Wolf) to and from Madeira. The journey time is approximately two and a half hours. The boat usually leaves the port of Funchal in Madeira at 8 am and part of the Porto Santo to 18h for the trip back. Golf: The golf course in Porto Santo, designed by Seve Ballesteros, opened in 2004 and organizes the Madeira Island Open, a stage of the PGA European championship since 2009. The 18 hole is a par 72, six of which are par 3's, six par 4's and six par 5, with championship level, beginner and for women. The first nine holes are American style, with several lakes and other water works and a breathtaking view over the bay on the south coast and the beach. The last nine extend to the high cliffs of the north coast and rolling fairways combine the typical route to an English landscape even more spectacular. Among the most impressive are the holes 13, 14 and 15 along the cliff and providing players with a magnificent view of the rugged coastline down there. The hole 14 is probably the signature of the route. It is a double curve (dogleg) through the cliffs, with a tempting direct shot to the green for the big players. Or maybe it's the 10th, another par 5 where you can choose to manage the dangers of water, throwing a taco short (iron) before a long stick approach to the green. As the course of the league, there is a 9 holes par 3 practice area, putting green, chipping area, and a magnificent club with a pro shop, bar, restaurant, jacuzzi and sauna. 9 holes, 18 holes and a number of tickets are available as well as around the clubs, trolley and buggy rental.
