Unique, rustic vacation retreat designed by Norwegian architect, Bernardo Rostad. The native stone and wood house is located minutes from Maggie Valley and the adjoining Cataloochee Ski Resort and Dude Ranch (accessible by service road). Abundant floor to ceiling glass allows panoramic vistas of mountain meadows and distant mountain ranges. Special seclusion and natural beauty play host to native grasses, wildflowers and strawberries. Ample hiking trails lead to the Blue Ridge Parkway and Historical Cataloochee Valley. Come enjoy your privacy with private pool and hot tub overlooking the mountains. Road to the house is gravel but in good condition. Complete amenities, includin33 acres, elevation 4700 feet with 360 degree views of the Smoky Mountains. Special note: due to the high elevation and design of the house (lots of glass), it is not suitable for small children or the elderly. The design of the house consist of contemporary designed stairs, pool and decks.

The pool had a trickling stream of fresh water and was not even a quarter of the way filled upon arrival. The yard had not been mowed and there were no clearly marked hiking trails or maps provided to find the trails advertised. The view was beautiful however, the rest of the house was not what we had hoped for in terms of a romantic getaway.
