We are Val & Renee Morel, owners of Sea and Sky Rentals dot com. Val & I are both native New Orleanians. We grew up in the New Orleans metro area, both on the Southshore of Lake Pontchartrain. I grew up in Gretna/Harvey on the Westbank, and Val in the community of Chalmette located in St Bernard Parish. Though we now call Milton, Florida our home, we travel back to Slidell and New Orleans often.

Why did we buy our condo 'Marina Breeze'? We moved to Slidell on the Northshore in 2002, buying a unique waterfront property on Carr Dr. We lost that home in Hurricane Katrina (8/29/05), but had fallen in love with the delightful waterfront community, Slidell. Though we moved to Milton, FL after Hurricane katrina, our love for the Slidell area, the lake, the communities of Northshore Beach, the wonderful food, quaint Old Town Slidell, and scenic bayous led us to purchase a condo on the water in Slidell during the Summer of 2006. Obviously, we couldn't stay away very long! We are delighted to be able to share this wonderful condo with you, our guests.

Slidell is a quaint town that has a historic area and a well known antique district. The local restaurants are as good as any you will find in the area.



The condo has been completely remodeled after Hurricane Katrina, including all new furniture.



We invite you to bring your boat and fishing pole and enjoy the proximity to New Orleans.

Great Girls Get-a-way!

Each year my sister, niece and I choose a destination and take a spring trip. This year we chose New Orleans. Being 3 ladies , we preferred not to stay inside New Orleans , so we searched for something in the surrounding area and found this condo. What a find! It was only a quick and easy 20 minute drive to New Orleans, an easy drive to the Cajun Encounter Swamp Tour and less than an hour from the the Jean Lafitte State Park for hiking etc, which were 3 "musts" on our list. We felt comfortable in the area, directions were right on spot for an easy arrival, (even at 10 PM) and the condo was perfect for a place to return to from a long day hiking or even an easy in/ out if we wanted to venture to New Orleans for part of the day and return to refresh, cook our own meal, and head back for some night time fun. Plenty of room, comfortable beds and a wonderful inlet view from the balcony....all at a very reasonable price! Couples or family or just a girls get-a- way, we all agreed we would highly recommend !

Very comfortable and convenient

The unit was exceptional. The beds were very comfortable. The jet tub in the master bath was a surprise bonus! Having a washer and dryer was particularly convenient during our rainy stay - we could wash out our dirty, damp clothes. We enjoyed being close to New Orleans, but just outside the city. Being so close to the freeway, we could head out in any direction to sight-see.

BEWARE!!!! DISGUSTING STALE CIGARETTE SMELLING CONDO

BEWARE!!!!! It pains me to say that not only was this a huge disappointment, but reaching out to the owner to ask for fair treatment was taken in complete vain. We arrived to open the doors to a horrible stale cigarette odor that completely filled the condo. I immediately called the owner and reported that i had been promised this was a NON SMOKING condo only to be told that "they put on a humidifier" and for me to open the doors and windows and use some cheap room spray they left. HOW HORRIFYING! We had to completely reclean the place, do laundry all evening of all the sheets and towels which did minimal help...couldn't use the bed comforters at all and had to go out the next morning and purchase towels and sheets to use. We also went to put food in the cabinet and was greeted by a LIVE ROACH! and another dead one next to the refrigerator door. THIS IS HARDLY THE WAY THE OWNER DESCRIBES THEIR BEAUTIFUALLY KEPT CONDO SO BEWARE! The window sills hadn't been cleaned in months so opening the window just blew dirt everywhere too.

the most disappointing thing was after the trip and trying to make the most of what had been a year long wait and saving up for this trip...was contacting the owner to do the right thing by refunding me the cleaning fee and pet deposit since i had to go to the expense of cleaning supplies, candles, towels and sheets and of course they refused to do anything and tried to claim that no one smokes in the condo and it is just poor ventilation and caused by a tenant that lives below and that although i called and reported it, since i didn't call a second time to complain, "they assumed" it was no longer an issue! ARE YOU KIDDING ME! WHY WOULD I CALL THE FIRST TIME AND TELL YOU HOW DISAPPOINTED I WAS BECAUSE YOU ASSURED ME IT WAS A NON SMOKING UNIT!!!

the fact is we were stuck; had been on the road for 10 hours and it was late and we had our pet with us so we couldn't just go check into a hotel...so we spent hours cleaning it the best we could, getting candles and cleaning supplies and hoped the owners would do the right thing when it was over. NO SUCH LUCK...my hope in leaving this review is that i can spare others from this experience and that people do not reward people for misrepresenting their place online

Owner's Response: We hope all of the excellent reviews for the condo, gathered over 8 years, will speak for themselves. We pride ourselves in offering great customer service and providing a lovely vacation property that has enjoyed many repeat guests over the years. Unfortunately this guest was confused and disappointed from the moment she arrived at the condo.... Somehow she thought she'd rented a 4 bedroom condo, but our condo is a 2 bedroom and is advertised as such. Our condo sleeps a maximum of 6 guests. Days after the guest departed she contacted us again to ask about getting her $200 deposit back. However, we don't collect a security deposit, so there was nothing to return. This condo like all of our vacation rental homes is well maintained, thoroughly cleaned after each guest stay, plus has several deep cleans per year, as well as regular pest control. Again, we hope all of our 5 star and 4 star reviews will show our commitment to excellent customer service.

Condo is very nice. was clean and very well stocked. We were hoping for more actual waterfront instead of just on the canal but it was lovely.

Unit is on second floor without an elevator so disabled or elderly should be aware. Parking is immediately at bottom of stairs which was nice.

Easy access to all major highways without being right on the highways. Several nice restaurants nearby.
