Two story oceanfront cottage, with upper and lower decks. Cottage is located directly on the waterfront with direct access to ocean and river from yard. In addition you have use of lovely private maintained sandy beach approx. 300 yards from back door. Breathtaking views of surrounding ocean bay, river, and forest. Located at end of private road on small peninsula with privacy and quiet yet 10 minute drive to shopping, interstate. Close to bike trail, parks, harbor, whaling museum and historic town center. Perfect for families.

Nearest Ferry: New Bedford at 5 Miles

Town of Fairhaven has lovely center with several historic Gothic style buildings that make up the town square. Founded in the 1600's it offers many interesting and historically rich learning opportunities. Sister city to New Bedford you won't want to miss a visit to the whaling museum, the fishing fleet centered in the harbor or the boat yards on the Fairhaven side of the harbor. You can catch a ferry to the islands as well. The bike trail built on an old railway runs from Fairhaven center to Mattappoisette and passes very near the cottage. The Buttonwood Zoo is also great fun for the whole family. If you want more wave action a day trip to Horseneck beach is a great outing located about 1/2 hr from the cottage.
