The view is endless. The ocean on one side, the glacier on the other

From the wooden deck we have seen killer whales and dolphins. The seals are regular visitors and different species of seabirds are at home here. This is no surprise as the house is facing the North Atlantic ocean and rich fishing grounds are in view.

The house was previously the village general store which has been converted into two luxury apartments.

Until now the apartments have been used as a second home for the owner.

The village Hellissandur is only 200 km from Reykjavík (2.5 hours) and the roads are excellent. You can choose between three scenic routes going there.

Among the most relaxing holidays ever

To put it in a nutshell: this place is perfect!

The appartment is large and bright with huge panoramic windows and a terrasse overlooking the sea. It is brand new and spotlessly clean. Its equipment is of high quality and tastefully chosen. It has everything you need for a relaxing and quiet holiday - including the absence of a TV, which we actually appreciated, since it would distract you from the marvellous sea view. On the other hand, it has an enormous choice of books and classical music to listen to while watching the waves and sea life outside.

The owners are a lovely, easy and helpful couple. So many details show that they put a lot of heart and thought into this place: a pair of binoculars at the guests disposals. A large choice of maps and brochures for exploring the wonders of Snaefellsness, of which there is plenty. Printed weather and tide information for the upcoming days of their guests' stay. And there is so much more...

This place is possibly the most beautiful and relaxing appartment we ever spent our holidays in. Many thanks to Stella and Larus for the perfect stay they offered us!

Wow, what a beautiful place to stay. The owners were there to meet us and show us around their apartment. It was very clean, tidy, spacious and very modern. It
overlooked the sea from the lounge and bedroom windows and Snaefellsjokull from the kitchen window. The house itself is beautifully laid out and spacious. We never actually used the lounge are as we could sit and watch the seals or birdwatch from the bedroom window which had 2 armchairs and a coffee table and an enormous bed.
The surrounding are is great for walkers, birders or anyone wanting a varied landscape and no night clubs! We enjoyed every minute we stayed there and would thoroughly recomend staying there for a romantic break as well.
