Duck Cove Cottage - If relaxation, peace and quiet are part of the agenda, Duck Cove Cottage may help achieve that goal. This 8 year old, 1 bedroom carriage house can be ideal for the couple that wants a base to explore Down East, tour Acadia, or just sit in the chairs by tranquil, tidal Herrick Bay for your time here. With the bird life on the bay, an occasional eagle soaring by or the red squirrels dashing through the trees round out your closest neighbors. Besides a spacious living area it has a fully equipped kitchen, king bed in the bedroom, sleeper sofa in the living area, walk in closet, 1 bath, 2 dressing areas, and washer- dryer utility area in the 850 sq feet. The deck overlooks the bay and offers a very tranquil atmosphere situated on 4 peaceful acres. Charcoal grill and lobster cooking pots are in the garage on the ground level. We anticipate your slogan will be like ours after your vacation here-- 'Time spent in Maine is not wasted'.

We loved our week in this secluded, cozy retreat. It was everything that we had hoped it would be and even more! The beautiful, restful setting was perfect for days of exploring the surrounding area, hiking, and just relaxing in the quiet environment. We are anxious to return again, perhaps a little earlier in the year to enjoy warmer, summertime activities, like kayaking. Gary and Debi have created a wonderful, relaxing environment with all the comforts of home!
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Sightseeing, Romantic Getaway

An extraordinary vacation getaway that
immediately felt more like home than a
rental cottage. Perfect in every way and down to every last detail (not kidding: even enough hangers for clothes!!), including the really comfortable furnishings, fully equipped kitchen, tranquil & beautiful setting, and unusually gracious and thoughtful owners - all set in a relaxing and friendly community within easy driving range of a multitude of diverse activities to suit every taste. We feel extremely fortunate to have found such an ideal vacation cottage available in this spectacular area of Maine and truly can't imagine there is much out there that would equal the terrific experience we had at Duck Cove Cottage. Thank you, Gary and Debi,for sharing your lovely home, and especially for creating such a warm and cozy environment that so readily feels like home to others.

This was the most comfortably furnished vacation home we have ever stayed in. Very tranquil setting and great location for biking and kayaking right out the door or nearby. We enjoyed the quiet solitude of Maine while having easy access to dining, art and music.

We stayed here for our honeymoon and couldn't have been any happier. The house was very nice and the atmosphere was very quiet. A perfect place to relax!
