Hau'ula Hillside Hideaway is a restored, ten-bedroom Hawaiian country home nestled in the Koolau Mountain foothills on the North Shore of Oahu. This lovely two-acre estate offers the simple pleasures of a traditional, Hawaiian-style, country vacation... serenity, bird-watching, star-gazing, relaxing around the Koi pond and enjoying fresh fruit from the banana and papaya trees that grow on the land. Two bedrooms with queen beds, a full eat-in kitchen with full size appliances including a washer/dryer, a reading or TV viewing area, a full bathroom with a king-size shower, living and dining areas, and lanais (porches) . The bedrooms and kitchen/eating and TV/sitting area have air-conditioning. All the rooms have ceiling fans to keep the cool breezes flowing even on the warmest days. Newly remodeled and furnished with Hawaiian quilts, lovely wicker and rattan pieces throughout. French doors frame the lush views of the tropical gardens with a child-friendly playground, ocean and mountains.

The ranches offer hiking, horseback riding, ATV rides, visits to Jurassic Park movie set, ancient fish ponds, WWII bunkers and historical exhibits. Turtle Bay Resort has golfing, horseback riding and fine dining minutes from our door. The Macadamia Nut Outlet has garden tours, boat rides and authentic cultural experiences for the whole family. The guest suite has a private entrance, its own yard, garden and parking area. The home is owner-occupied, so we can assist, as your 'ohana' (family) to ensure that this vacation is your very best! We recently added a children's playground with swings, slide, and jungle gym! We have all kinds of tropical fruits that grow on our land: bananas, papayas, grapefruit, limes, starfruit, oranges, tangerines, figs and mango. While Honolulu's attractions are only an hour away, Hau'ula is located on the lush Windward side of Oahu and offers a low-key atmosphere, striking landscapes and many fun-filled adventures. The deep green Koolau Mountains plunge dramatically into the ocean and valleys of the Windward side, their peaks coaxing the clouds, invite brief rain showers on almost a daily basis - just enough to keep our garden rich with all the colors of the rainbow!

We loved the fact that it was tucked up on the hillside. It was great for our two young children...it allowed them to play outside without interupting other familys. The front yard was great and allowed the kids to get out of the adults hair for a bit. We would definately stay here again when the opportunity presents itself. Thanks!!!

The ammenities were all there...the property was clean and well decorated.

We stayed at this rental house in may of 2009, we were 5 young adults in our early twenties and this was our first experience in Hawaii. This house was spacious and well maintained, it felt like we were at home. The owners and managers are very friendly and helpful, they made us feel very welcomed. The view in the morning is spectacular as the sun rises over the trees. Youre friendly neighbours (roosters) will make sure you're awake to enjoy the splendid nature around the property. Beaches are abundant and close by, groceries and restaurants are only 5 minutes away. If you do not plan on driving, there is constant bus services that go all around the island letting you explore the best of Oahu. We will definately be back, we miss it already!!!!!

We stayed in unit 2 for 10 days around New Year's, and it was wonderful. Everything was exactly as the web site says, and Sina was there to help whenever we had a question. The kitchen had some food left over from previous guests, which was helpful. We loved having the koi pond, and the turtle, whom we named Juan Carlito (why not?) was really friendly. People in the Hauula area were also very, very nice, and of course, this is a perfect place if you do not want the hustle and bustle of Waikiki. We will definitely return with friends and family!

If your idea of a vacation is getting out of Honolulu and experiancing the island of Oahu then this is the rental for you. Beautiful place! Great location! Wonderful on-site service if you need it! This place was clean, came with extras like boogie boards, beach chairs and towels, and a great view. It's easy to get to and is close by great activities like the Polynesian Cultural Center and the North shore beaches. I would rent here again!

Aloha and thank you both so much for a beautiful week on O'ahu. We really enjoyed staying in Suite #1 on the hillside and were totally pleased with the accommodations. Your listing, while very accurate, cannot do justice to its absolute charm! We cannot say enough great things about Sina and her wonderful ohana, and we left Hau'ula with the feeling that we had become part of that Aloha spirit. Many, many thanks for the hospitality, convenience, and thoughtfulness. We heartily recommend your beautiful little piece of Paradise! Mahalo.
