Midway between King's Cross St Pancras and Angel stations, a traditional Georgian residential neighbourhood awaits your visit. For over twenty years this home has been a convenient pad for music and film industry creatives. A perfect place from which to explore London and visit the well known sights and attractions. Close to superb Islington eateries such as Ottolenghi and Jamie Oliver's Italian - as well as many others - this comfortable first floor flat is brilliant as a base for a taste of authentic London.

This is vibrant Islington, on the northern edge of Central London with its eclectic mix of bars and pubs, shops and antiques, theatres and cinemas. A Sainsbury's supermarket - open til midnight on weekdays and late at the weekends - will allow you to stock up on your essentials, whatever time you arrive. In the apartment you will find all you need for your stay, from fluffy towels to broadband and wifi.

This is modern metropolitan living as convenient as you need it to be.

The great thing about not staying in a hotel is that *you* get to decide when to get up! No set breakfast times to share with all those other tourists. You can just wallow at leisure in luxurious bedding, waking to your own music using the integrated iPhone charger or find local radio stations to set your mood.

Indulge in energising hot water for a shower or bath with fluffy Clarissa Hulse towels to completely relax. The salon style hairdryer and iron with ironing board (if you must!) will complete your look whilst your partner is out getting the fresh stuff.

Around the corner Chapel Market is bustling 7 days a week, brimming with good value London necessities. Get that freshly baked bread, enjoy some healthy fruits or just go for that full english breakfast! In the green park opposite the flat, you can join energetic types for a morning jog or catch some sunshine (when available!). At the bottom of the hill, go to Cally Pool for a quick swim.

Meantime, why not plan the rest of your day? Some useful guidebooks are yours to use at the flat. Broadband internet and wifi are always on, because we understand you want to stay connected.

If you are staying a bit longer, feel free to use the efficient AEG washer dryer. The 30 degree time saving wash gets things done in just over an hour. If there are more than two of you, the sofa in the lounge converts to a double bed and there are two single quilts to get comfortable. Plenty of towels for four but remember this 35 square metre apartment is bijou rather than palatial. We do find it comfortable for ourselves and our two teenage children. There is another iPod/iPhone charger with speakers to enjoy your music in the lounge.

And because we know that a good coffee or tea *whenever you want* can be essential, we have made sure that the kitchen comes fully kitted out for that perfect crema espresso or that fragrant cuppa.

In the kitchen you will find the best pans ever, if you want to make your own meal. Easy to clean hob and combination oven microwave makes cooking a pleasure. Elegant wine glasses with plenty of modern dishes will quickly make your meal at your London home taste yum! Don't want to cook? Just order a takeaway for delivery within the hour. Atmospheric lighting gets you in the mood to just crash out in your own London hideaway. Digital TV and on demand films (these do cost a bit extra!) are easily chosen.

Handy and neat in a central location

Loved staying in Islington at this flat, convenient to public transport, restaurants, pubs and shopping. Flat was comfortable and well equipped. A bit too cosy with two teenagers but absolutely doable and comfortable. Helps make the adolescents appreciate how good they have it at home in Melbourne. If we could afford to buy a house in Islington we would move to London tomorrow. Great Location and funky little flat. Thank you

Nice little flat!

We stayed 4 days in this flat. We're a family of 4. We're in our 30's with two daughters ages 7 and 12. The flat was the perfect size for us.

What we loved: Maryke and Koko were lovely and pleasant to work with. They graciously accommodated our last minute change of plans. Islington is a great area to be in. It's out of the bustle and traffic of downtown London, but still a 5 minute tube ride away from anywhere in London you'd like to visit. The flat is in a great location with a grocery, a street market, a movie theater, shopping, and pubs and restaurants all in a short walking distance. The flat includes nearly everything you could possibly need for your stay. Plenty of nice towels and bedding, and everything was clean and fresh smelling. We loved the way the flat was decorated. It felt like a second home while we were there - very cozy after spending a long day out in the city sightseeing.

What we didn't love: The Macbook was broken so were were not able to use it during our stay. We have iPhones, so it wasn't much of an issue for us, and the WiFi did work great. We had trouble with the hot water - we only got about 6 to 7 minutes of hot water in the shower before it turned cold. We learned that if we turned off the water and turned it back on, it would get hot again, but not very convenient if you're covered in soap! The building is old (even though the flat is modern and nice) and the walls are thin. You can hear conversations of people walking by on the street outside from within the flat. I'm a light sleeper, so the night-owl downstairs neighbor kept me awake with dance music and Game of Thrones until about 1:30am every night. They also threw a party the last night we were in the flat with music that lasted late in the night. No bath soap, shampoo, or conditioner was provided. We brought our own so it wasn't an issue for us.

We truly enjoyed the flat and our stay, and we would stay here again.

For us it is very useful to know if there are issues so that we can address them. Our neighbours downstairs have just changed and so I will have a quick word with the landlord to remind them to observe quiet hours. The nineteenth century building was originally one house built during the time of horse drawn carriages..and so structurally sound can travel up and down.
It is useful to know about the water running out as the hot water should be unlimited and so we can tell the engineer when the boiler is serviced.
The Macbook is sad and is still out for repair.
We are really pleased that you enjoyed the convenience of the shops and other amenities close by and we are looking forward to welcoming you back for your next stay in London!

Cosy apartment on perfect location

We enjoyed our one-week-stay in Marijke's comfortable apartment very much. It is well equipped (you even have a laudry machine!) so there is e.g. everything you need to make a proper meal. In the neighbourhood you find many nice shops and good restaurants and the tube station (Angel) is within a ten minutes walk. Therefore we highly recommand this apartment.

Great Location and customer service

We loved our stay in Islington. The accommodations were exactly as listed. Since we only had 2 people there was plenty of room, but would have been tight with 4 adults. The flat was an easy walk to Angel Station and a variety of restaurants and Pubs. The information in the flat was helpful with the appliances and the area. The owner was very helpful, and helped us work through international banking. We will consider leasing from her again.
