Our very private and spacious canal front home offers a combination of 'great location' and 'great amenities.' White, sandy beaches (Captiva and Sanibel), world renowned shelling, superb fishing, restaurants and a unique island pub are just steps from the house. A boat dock, canoe adventures and fishing are just out the back door where wildlife (including manatees and many aquatic birds) abound in this tropical setting. A network of bike paths will take you to Ding Darling Wildlife Refuge or Bowman's Beach. The island of Captiva is steps away and Captiva's shopping and restaurants are just two miles away. Our pool (heated in winter) makes it the perfect getaway for a memorable vacation. The 2,300 square foot home includes 3 bedrooms, 2-1/2 bathrooms features a modern kitchen, new appliances, spacious dining room and living areas, ceiling fans, fireplace, two televisions, cable, VCR, high speed internet, central air, new washer and dryer, 3 decks and mature native vegetation.

Just out the back door you'll enjoy Manatee visits, Tarpons roll, Mullet jump, birds galore and nature abounds.

Captivating Castaway Home!

We are from Ohio and vacationed at this fabulous home from 10/31-11/7. This is a very cozy, nicely decorated home located right on a canal. The second day there, we saw manatees in the canal. Shelling, directly across the bridge, in Captiva was excellent. The location of this home was perfect - it is actually right over the bridge from Captiva, a short ride to Sanibel's great shopping at Periwinkle Place, and close to both Captiva and Sanibel's wonderful restaurants such as the "Green Flash", "Bubble Room", Key Lime Bistro, etc. We also ate at home in the large, well-equipped kitchen. The pool was beautiful and the water was just perfect. Weather th week we were there was sunny every day with temperatures in the high 80's during the day and 60's at night. We went fishing in the "back country" and caught snook, red fish, lady fish, snapper (one of our meals) and various other fish native to this area. I actually caught a 31 inch "trophy" snook! The second day fishing, right near Jennings Marina in Captiva, 2 manatees came right up to our boat! We were so interested in getting pictures that we forgot all about trying to pet them!
We were fortunate to travel with our 2 Newfoundland dogs who had a wonderful time! They stayed cool either inside or on the tile area by the "tiki bar" next to the pool.

We would definitely recommend this property to anyone! The owner was very communicative and the management company was responsive to our needs. Can't wait to go again!

We have spent the last four Aprils at this wonderful, family friendly home and loved every minute. It's peaceful and relaxing yet minutes from the beach, bike trails and restaurants. The house is comfortable and the pool a delight. You will treasure your time there as we do.

Perfect Family Getaway

We are getting ready to visit the Castaway house for our second year. Last August was our first time and we absolutely loved it. We have two teenagers and a 6 year old and the pool was a big hit. The canoeing was fantastic and my 6 year old had never been canoeing and insisted on going every day. The beach is just a minute walk and bicycling all over the island was so much fun. The house was spacious and gave everyone their own areas to watch tv or play games. I spent several years as a child vacationing on Sanibel/Captiva with my family from Ohio and now that I am an adult (living in Tampa), we have spent the last 6 years vacationing there. Last year at this rental house was the best location by far. It is just plain fun and the house was well kept. We had no complaints.

Location was perfect, pool outstanding, short walk to beach and great "corner store" which had everything. Couldn't have asked for better weather or a better vacation. Our family will be repeat renters!!!

My husband and I were there in September and had one of the best times in our lives. The weather was great, the pool was perfect and the house spacious and very nicely decorated. The beach was just a short walk away and there was a little store on the way with great coffee!
We had also been there the previous year with our teenage kids and everything was easy and convient. Great fishing, great sun and beach. I love the bar next to the pool. The house is in a great location and very clean and well kept.
I have no complaints and I plan to visit there again.
