La Rade is a quiet, small, exclusive residence within walking distance of the village and beaches. This light and sunny apartment is located on the 3rd floor of the residence and is fully air-conditioned with WiFi, SKY TV and Tempur beds. Open-plan living and dining room with a working fireplace and floor to ceiling sliding doors onto the terrace with fantastic views over the bay and Cap Ferrat. The separate kitchen is modern and fully equipped with a door opening onto the beautiful garden planted with palm and olive trees, lavender and geraniums. The master bedroom's terrace overlooks the bay. Its en suite bathroom has a bath, shower, sink, loo and bidet. The guest bedroom (2 single beds) has sliding doors opening onto the garden. Its en suite shower room has a shower, loo and sink. There is also a 3rd guest loo in the entrance hallway. Accessed via a staircase is the breathtaking 100m2 roof terrace with 360 panoramic views. There is a private garage and shared swimming pool.

LA RADE VILLEFRANCHE SUR MER

We had the good fortune to stay at the Penthouse for two weeks in September. It was everything we hoped for. The facilities and furnishings of the apartment were of high quality with shops, cafes & restaurants a short walk away and the "old town" about 10 minutes walk down the hill. We spent many happy hours on the roof terrace watching the cruise ships and super yachts glide by as well as exploring other parts of the south of France. Molly, the Manager, was exceptionally helpful with lots of tips and advice on how to make the most of our stay. Needless to say we are returning next year.

EXCELLENT VACATION RENTAL!

My husband and I celebrated our 10th anniversary in Ville Franche at this lovely apartment. I had stayed at this apartment two years previous with four girfriends and vowed to bring my Husband back to stay. I can't say enough about how perfect it was for what we needed. We spent most of our stay on the terrace as the view is spectacular, there is even a sun roof area that has an even better view! The building is quiet and clean, it's an easy walk to the center of town and up to the main bus line to Nice and Monaco. We loved the big king sized bed and it was more comfortable than the one we have at home! The layout of the apartment is open and spacious and could easily accomodate a couple or family of four. The furnishings are beautiful! The kitchen was well stocked and it was nice to have a washer and dryer too. Wendy the owner took great care of us for whatever we needed, and provided us a notebook of activities and restaurants in Ville France which was really handy. This is a great long or short term rental and I would recommend it to anyone! I wish we were sitting on the terrace right now.....

FABULOUS LOCATION

The first thing you will do when you step into this apartment is go to the balcony window and look at the view!! We spent hours on the balcony with our binoculars watching the cruise ships come and go, and just generally soaking up the atmosphere.
The apartment itself is well equipped with guides of the local area, helpful hints of things to do and places to go.
The cupboards in the kitchen are well stocked with things such as oil, coffee, teabags, washing powder and general necessities.
There are two great bathrooms both ensuite.
The bedrooms have lots of storage and great blackout blinds.
We made full use of the outside spaces, including the the nice pool area.
Everywhere in the region is easily accessible by public transport, there is no need for a car.
Villefranche is a smashing little town, very quaint and typically French. There are some nice restaurants, we ate out every evening.
I would highly recommend this apartment and Villefranche.
We would love to return.

A GREAT BASE FOR THE NICE AREA

Two couples stayed in this apartment for a week in the middle of June. We had a wonderful time in the area, using only public transport.

The apartment was perhaps the best we have ever rented. Clean, comfortable, with God-sent views! The owner, Wendy, lives downstairs and couldn't have been more helpful. Well equipped, comfortable beds, a lovely garden at the back, cool breezes through the apartment, and a large upstairs deck which we never got around to using!

As you can gather, we would strongly recommend this apartment and hope to return ourselves.

LA RADE - PERFECT

La Rade was beautifully layed out with large french windows leading the living room onto the balcony with an absolutely stunning panoramic view over the bay of Villefranche and Cap Ferrat.

The apartment was immaculately clean throughout and well located for Villefranche bars, restaurants, patisseries and local stores.

WONDERFUL APPARTMENT IN VILLEFRANCGE-SUR-MER

We are a family with two girls aged 8 & 12. We stayed in this beautiful appartment for 9 days this summer (2009). The appartment is very well located, has a wonderful amount of space including a great balcony, terrace and garden. The appartment decor is new, fresh, well organized, and extremely comfortable. Wendy (the owner) lives in the building and is available any time for help. Villefranche sur Mer is arguably one of the most beautiful old fishing towns on the Cote d'Azur. Located between Nice and Monaco. Behind the town are the mountains of Mont Boron, Mont Alban and Mont Vinaigrier. It is just 10 km (6.2 mi) south west of Monaco. The bay (rade) of Villefranche is one of the deepest natural harbors of any port in the Mediterranean Sea and provides safe anchorage for large ships between Nice and Cap Ferrat.

The town limits extend to the hills surrounding the bay climbing from sea level to an altitude of 520 m (1750 ft) at Mont-Leuze. The three 'Corniches' or main roads linking Nice to Italy pass through Villefranche.

The apartment is very conveniently located near sea level below the lowest of the three 'Corniches' in an area called La Darse. It is an easy 4 minute stroll to the main street which has a boulangerie, banks, tabac, pharmacy, newspaper shop and mini supermarket. It is another 10 minute stroll into the old part of town via the 'citadel' castle walk. The old town is fascinating to stroll around and has a good selection of restaurants, shops and bars. It is filled with history like the Rue Obscure or “Dark Street” which is a passage way under the harbor front houses which dates back to 1260.

There are two beaches in Villefranche. The La Darse beach which is a 5 minute walk from the apartment and Plage des Marinières, which is the main beach, a 14 minute walk, and over 1 km long.
