St Columbs Cottages have just been completed in 2012 and are set right in the heart of the beautiful north coast countryside. It is located about 2.5 miles outside Bushmills and is within 10-15 minutes of the busy towns of Ballymoney and Coleraine.

It is not unusual to wake up to the sound of birds singing and pheasants crowing. Guests can take a relaxing stroll through our 100 acre forest packed with all sorts of wildlife such as deer, badgers, squirrels, rabbits and birds such as pheasants, buzzards and ducks.

The cottage is furnished to a very high standard, with oil fired central heating and a wood burning stove. A flat screen TV with Freeview, DVD player and wireless broadband is provided.

Enjoy a morning coffee or barbecue on the spacious patio at the rear of the cottage.

A travel cot, high chair and stair gate are also available for our guests.

For more than one family traveling together please note that the cottage next door is also family owned.

A great home base for exploring the Antrim Coast

We stayed here for several nights with our family of 2 adults and 5 children. It was a great spot to explore the sights of the Antrim Coast. We would definitely consider staying here again. Our kids really enjoyed the place, and there was plenty of room for everybody. We mused that it would be nice to find a home to live in that was arranged so nicely--a great place to spend time with family--perfect for relaxing. The cottage is beautiful--feels new, well cared-for with lots of light through the large windows and in a beautiful pastoral setting. The kitchen is well stocked.

The cottage is just a few minutes from the Giant's Causeway, and lots of other fun places to explore. I took a walk in the woods nearby with my kids and enjoyed all the greenery.

Susan was very, very accommodating to our needs, and went to great efforts to make sure our stay was nice. Very kind and caring. Thank you Susan for all your efforts!

Weekend Holiday in the North Coast

My young family of six stayed for a weekend at the end of September. The cottages are well located, spotless, brand new and extremely well fitted out and supplied, in fact, better than most homes. A great location for Portballintrae, where we had a great family meal in the Bayview Hotel and close to Bushmills, where we used the Park and Ride Scheme for The Giants Causeway Visitors' Centre, the bus and parkoing are free and they give you discount tokens for your admission, which is cheaper than the online price. The setting is tranquil where the kids enjoyed walking in the private forest behind the cottage. The wood burning stove was perfect in the evenings, however the property was always toasty warm. Susan was very friendly and very caring during our stay. I just wish we could have stayed longer. Will be back, most definately, thanks Susan for a great and perfect weekend, The McCann Family, Ballinderry.

St Columb’s Cottages is an ideal location to explore the beauty of the North Antrim coast and is located 5 minutes from the famous Giant's Causeway Heritage site, with its new soon to be opened Visitors' Centre. Other local attractions include Dunluce castle ,Carrick-a-rede rope bridge and the world's oldest Distillery in Bushmills. Why not visit County Donegal which can be reached within 30 minutes by using the 10 minute ferry ride from Magilligan.

Within a 10 minute drive you can visit the local seaside towns of Portrush, Portstewart and Ballycastle where you can take the ferry across to Rathlin Island. At the west of the island is the renowned RSPB Seabird Centre, where puffins, guillemots, razorbills and kittiwakes can be viewed during the summer months and in Mill Bay there is a colony of seals.

Close by there are 8 golf courses. The most famous of these courses is Royal Portrush Golf Club which is hosting the Irish Open 2012 from the 28th June to 1st July.

The North Coast hosts many high profile events each year such as the world's fastest motorcycle race, The North West 200, in May; the RNLI Portrush Raft Race in June; the N.I Milk Cup for junior footballers in July where many international footballers are present; the Auld Lammas fair in August and the N.I International Air show in September.

Explore the Causeway Coastal Route which is an outstanding scenic drive and visit the Glens of Antrim with their beautiful views, nature reserve and spectacular waterfalls.

The capital city of Belfast is approximately one hour by car or train from Ballymoney and is well worth a visit. The newly opened Titanic Belfast is an unmissable visit in any tour of Northern Ireland. It is located in the heart of Belfast, on the slipways where RMS Titanic was built. Inside the building, visitors will re-live the entire Titanic story from her birth in Belfast to the fateful maiden voyage and her eventual discovery on the seabed.
