Quiet Slice of Paradise

My husband and I stayed a week at Altamira and had an amazing time. Altamira is huge with 3 different levels. It has a beautiful view, refreshing private pool and a ton of areas to lounge around. It is in a quiet neighborhood just outside of Isabel II and was a little tricky to get to (no street signs), but eventually we memorized the route. Everything about our trip went smoothly. When we landed, we called the car rental place and they came to pick us up. We texted Dennis at the same time and he met us at the car rental and showed us the way to the house. He gave us a good overview of the house and local area and had some tips on what to see and do while we were there.
Altamira felt very safe. I know there is a lot of petty theft on the island, but we felt protected and secure at Altamira. We made most of our meals at Altamira and the kitchen had everything we needed. It was awesome that they had beach chairs, umbrellas, towels, a cooler and fins to borrow for trips to the beach. The patio upstairs was an awesome place to watch the stars at night. I think the only complaint we had was the heat and humidity, but that's going to be the same everywhere on the island. The property had ceiling fans in every room and air conditioners in all of the bedrooms, so that definitely helped. Overall, our trip to Vieques was pretty amazing!
