Having rented this property last summer, we knew what to look forward to; that did not detract in any way, indeed it only raised our expectations and we were not disappointed! The apartment really is luxurious on lots of levels and we are sure you will struggle to find better in Cascais (or possibly anywhere!). Its location is stupendous; we never tire of the view from the balcony overlooking the beach/sea, with its ever-changing light and composition. Within literally a couple of minutes walk you will find bars and restaurants to suit every budget, and if you want to travel further afield, the bus terminal and train station are an easy ten minutes walk from the apartment. Accommodation is first class: by different turns, lavish yet comfortable, and so spacious! If self-catering is your thing, the kitchen is light, spacious and superbly equipped and you won't find yourself perching at a breakfast bar, as there's a large dining area too, although we far prefer the table and chairs on the balcony. Miguel is charming, friendly, efficient ... all that one might wish for with an owner, and he makes the booking process so easy. A fortnight of relaxation in the sun, staying in a stunning apartment, is not to be too quickly overlooked, which is why we have already booked for next summer; what better recommendation is there than that!

All the other reviews of this apartment are accurate. It is beautiful, finished and furnished to a very high standard with stunning artwork and furniture. It's location is hard to beat, just a few steps from the beach and the town centre with its shops, restaurants and bars. This was our first visit to the area and we had debated staying in Lisbon but this gives you the best option we feel with cheap and frequent trains taking just 30mins to get to the city. Cascais is a really friendly place and the vast majority of people speak English which is good as Portuguese is a challenge! There are some excellent restaurants and bars with fish being prominent and very good quality. We had a hire car but it's not really necessary and can be a liability as parking is costly. That said, the coast up to Guincha is stunning and Sintra is a fascinating town which is well worth a visit. We were fortunate with the weather which only added to a fantastic short break. Miguel is a charming host who takes great care to ensure that you have everything you need. No hesitation in recommending this outstanding rental.

Owner's Response: Thank you Alan and Angela. Looking forward to see you again in Cascais.
Starting with our communication with Miguel, then the first meeting, and staying a beautiful 2 weeks -- we could not have asked for a more lovely location nor a more suitable accommodation! We enjoyed escaping the mid-Atlantic US winter for a couple of weeks to this "dreamy" get-away. The photos are truly representative -- although actually difficult to grasp the large size of the apartment from the photos Our welcome from Miguel was warm and covered all of the important info. It is very easy to travel to Lisbon, Sintra, -- and then spend time walking beside the water -- what a delightful location! Be sure to visit the historic houses just around from the marina. The best restaurants we found were 5entido, Dom Pedro I (try the salmon - UM), and Il Siciliano. Stay away from Excello Chinese and Jardim Cerveja (German). You will not be disappointed if you stay at this property!

third time here and still amazed with the overall property and views, miguel makes it so easy like a magician /voila and its done there are no more shops to add other than a small supermarket up on the left after the roundabout //there is a barbecue in the baia on thursdays try a bottle of wine with it and sit there if you are not on the balcony that is..we had a light show when we were there and again in every instance the vantage point from the balcony is the prime position,,.military museum in belem is worth a look then a beer in the bar beside it,,,yeah laxy days folks enjoy ///thanks again miguel and cascais

Owner's Response: Thank you again Michael and Caitriona :-) See you back this year.
Having just returned from a fortnight in this fabulous apartment, we felt impelled to confirm other reviews and say just how wonderful it is! The photographs do not do it justice, and to those people who describe it as 'home from home', their places must be far more luxurious and stylish than our place; that moment when we first saw the sea view is indescribable. Not only is the apartment extremely spacious, it is beautifully furnished and fantastically equipped. Its location could not be bettered: it overlooks the fishermen's beach and is in very easy walking distance of shops, bars, restaurants, the train station, the bus terminal and supermarkets. It is possible to visit Belem and Lisbon on the train, and we also went to Sintra on the bus. For those who enjoy surfing, it's also possible to travel to Guincho on the bus; it's an amazing beach, but possibly only recommended for those who can withstand the strong winds. I also enjoyed a trip along the coast, dolphin watching. Although unlucky on my first attempt, my second reaped rewards: they were in large numbers, babies included; it was both memorable and a privilege. Although the kitchen is fabulous, we never got around to cooking: we made breakfast, to enjoy on the large balcony every morning, watching the fishermen set off and Cascais come to life; or, we finished the day by pouring a glass of beer/wine/port to again enjoy on the balcony, but this time watching the locals promenade. Every night we found somewhere wonderful to eat. Our advice would be to ignore the restaurants in the square and the centre of Cascais, but to go out to just below or behind the apartment. Our favourites were: 5entidos; Crep's Grill; Paradigma; Caffé Italia (all within five minutes walk) and a south African restaurant (A Carvoaria) that we had found on Trip Advisor - it's no more than 10 minutes away and is well worth looking out. In all of them, we enjoyed great food, delicious wine and considered them very good value. We have had a truly amazing fortnight, so much so that we want to rebook!
