CLEAR CREEK CABIN SECLUDED ON BEAUTIFUL 345 ACRES AND YEAR ROUND CREEK

We have stayed at many VRBO properties, and have found that some overstate their ammenities. We found Clear Creek to be everything we had hoped for and even a little better than expected. The place was spotless and Marilyn was very gracious. The hiking was wonderful, the cows friendly and the cave was more vast than I expected. It is compact, and not much storage, but for 2 people it was more than adequate. Beautiful area.

We just returned home today from Clear Creek Cabin and had a wonderful stay. Hummingbirds, armadillos, foxes, and tons of fish to be caught. use the minnows in the creek for bait and you'll catch so many you will get tired. The cabin was delightful, cozy and just perfect for the two of us and our two small dogs. With all the woods you have to be careful of the ticks. And if you have little ones who need a tub, you will only have a shower which was perfect for each of us to use. Plenty of hot water, plenty of cool breezes, Beds were comfortable, both at night and for an afternoon nap. Marilyn is the perfect hostess who puts in really cute touches throughout the cabin. Just needs a needlepoint waterfowl right over the doorway to the kitchen from the main room to remind you to DUCK. The barbeque grill was perfect to cook meals on each night (and lunches, too). But the gas stove was also handy (we didn't use the stove at all, just the grill). And WalMart is close by in Harrison if you forget anything (about 20 miles into Harrison). It gets really dark at night and it is very quiet. Perfect for rest and relaxation. Very little if any cell phone coverage at the cabin, but there is a television with DISH TV. Just told my husband that is was time for Somemores (had those for dessert several times during our stay. With the grill just glowing after preparing our dinner or lunch, we just had to use those coals for something.) Lots of games and puzzles to keep you busy if you have rain or don't want to turn on the TV and don't want to read. I'll have my own bed tonight, but I am going to miss that porch.

We really enjoyed our stay at Clear Creek Cabin. The setting is beautiful - looking out on the waters of Clear Creek. The owners have done a great job of restoration, while still retaining the rustic character of the cabin. It was clean (especially the bathroom) and well stocked. There is a nice front porch and a small open patio to the side with a charcoal grill - a great place to spend time relaxing in the evenings. The weather was cold and rainy during part of our trip, but we still enjoyed time in front of the fireplace working puzzles and playing games. The highlight of the trip was our hike to (and into) the cave. We were amazaed at how deep into the cave we could go. Be sure to being dependable, bright flashlights and sturdy shoes for exploring. There were some unforeseen circumstances that came up during our stay, and Marilyn was more than accomodating. We hope to return during the summer months so we can spend some time swimming in the creek.
