I am the owner of The Cabin at Hawk Hollow. The name comes from the fact that we have many Red Tail Hawks in this area so the name.

I am a graduate of Iowa State University in Ames. I bacame an Art Teacher and now spend alot of time woodcarving and taking care of the property. I live on the property and I am available if anything is needed by the tenents.

The reason to choose this property is that it is beautiful and very relaxing. It is a place to spend time reconnecting with family and nature. It is a place where you can forget the outside world but not be far from anything.

If you want to do day trips we are close to RI,CT. and the Cape. Markets are within 15min. away.

You can sit by the firepit and watch the moon on the lake and see the fireflys in the night!

Read the reviews and you will see why you should visit The Cabin at Hawk Hollow!

Privacy, clean water and the beauty of the surroundings. Sit on the deck and watch the ducks or the kayakers move by on a quiet morning!

I love the lake as it is ever changing and we get the sunrise here to enjoy. Every season is wonderful!

Wow!!! Spent a long weekend at the cabin and had the best mini vacation I can remember in years. The cabin was rustic and cozy despite the cool weather thanks to the wood burning stove. Susan, our hostess, and Zoe made sure we had all the comforts of home. The property is unbelievably gorgeous with the beautiful fall colors against the tranquil lake. We spent the whole day fishing and caught dozens of fish off the docks. This place is heavenly.
Owner's Response: Thank you for your great review! Hope to see you next year and then you can catch Jasper the BIg Bass!

We spent a week at the cabin and the whole family enjoyed themselves. Sue was a pleasure and the cabin and property is very clean and well tended. It is very private and peaceful.

The lake is a busy lake(Jet Ski's/ Water Skiers/Pontoon boats) but large enough where everyone seems to get along. Fishing is good for the family with lots of sunfish and perch. I did catch a large Pike and two good sized Bass. The water is deep, very clean and clear.

We will be going back!!!

The Cabin at Hawk Hollow

A few friends and I have been coming to Hawk Hollow for 5 years now and it never disappoints. For us its a perfect guys weekend spot where you can sit back relax, do some fresh water fishing, kyaking, and top it off with a fire at night.
The location is perfect and very scenic with just enough privacy.

With that said I can say this rental location is not limited to a great guys place. I can see it equally enjoyable for couples and familes a like. There is plenty of scenic places to visit and nature trails to discover. The small town of Douglas is very close has a few small shops and offers plenty of weekend activites like an outdoor flea market

Lastly the owner Sue and her side kick Zoey are the perfect hosts. They both make you feel right at home. At this point for me she is almost like family. This is in large part to how pleasent Sue is and her willingness to open up her wonderful location for us to enjoy. One example of this is in previous years Sue has left a complimentary bottle of wine for us to enjoy. Wine is not somethng we enjoy but the thought is appreciated but often times gets left untouched. This year she left a six pack which is certainly more our speed. The point being only someone who cares about her renters would pick up on this and make the sutle change.

I feel she has the perfect personality for the renters who enjoy frequent drop bys for converstaion or just want their privacy she does an excellent job reading that and doing what is best.

Lastly the cabin itself is a perfect blend of rustic with just enough modern to suit any need. It is always clean and well kept and in 5 years visiting we have never had any issues or problems. The best part of it all is it comes and a very resonable price

The cabin at Hawk Hallow is best of show compared to any other rental in the area (I have statyed or looked at others spots in the area)

A Perfect Stay

My family and I (wife and three-year-old son) made sudden plans for a long weekend, and this cabin was a perfect fit. Some words that describe our experience: peaceful, private, relaxing, an outdoor "playground." My son and I caught a range of freshwater fish, our dog enjoyed swimming and running free, and my wife found the whole experience to be a "retreat." The owner could not be more helpful and nice in regards to your desires and enjoyment.
As many other people have written, "this is place is perfect." This is not an understatement, if you is looking for a lake view, a cabin, and fun activities in the woods.
I hope all of you enjoy it, as much as we did! Thanks!

We were so lucky to stay in this lovely cabin during the Brimfield Antique Show in July. Warm welcome from Susan as we arrived. She was super nice and helpful throughout our stay. The lake was so beautiful. We, a couple and a friend, enjoyed swimming, kayaking, sun bathing, etc. It was magically relaxing environment such as gentle sun light through trees, flower garden, bird's singing, BBQ, campfire. We said to ourselves that we'll come back here! Please experience!!
