A few picnic tables nearby offer the perfect spot for lunch, dinner or a cocktail to toast a successful fun gathering. Don't miss the Saturday Organic Farmer's Market filled with Epicurean Delights. Directions: Take Carter Notch Road about 3/10 of a mile from Route 16A in Jackson. One of our favorite things to do with our grandkids are visits to the North Conway RailroaCog Railroad in Mount Washington...the children of all ages love it! We also love the Mount Washington Theatre Company at the Eastern Slope Plaza only two miles away just off River Road. They have great children's theatre on Friday at 9am and 10:30 for around $7 for kids and adults. Enjoy the free lemonade and bubble blowing before the show and after meet the live performers for a post show autographs. They have plays such as Peter and the Wolf.

  • We are near Cranmore Ski Area (5 Minutes) 8 minutes to Attitash & Bear Peak, 8 Minutes to Black Mountain and Wildcat Ski Area!!! Hike in the White Mountain National forest or mountain bike in the trails in our back yard Echo Lake Woods. This location is an athletes dream! Echo Lake in summer is a Magical place to spend family time as you watch the climbers scale the majestic cliffs of the ledges you get to swim in a beautiful clean sandy bottom lake & clean and un-crowded beaches. Diana's Baths is one quarter mile away and offers wonderful hiking and fantastic Blackberry picking in late summer! This is one of the most romantic places in the world. The water supply for the area is located above this waterfall, but the collection of waterfalls and pools offers the perfect place to relax, reflect and cool off. You'll need to hike about a half-mile, following a well-marked trail, to find this special place found off the northern side of West Side Road amidst charming farms,

Cross country ski from our front door into the trails at Echo lake! We are near Cranmore Mountain only three miles away. Attitash, Bear Peak, Wildcat and Black Mountain SKI SLOPES are a mere 15 minutes away!! Ski Bretton ! Summer months you'll really love our close proximity: just 5 minutes to Storyland, 10 minutes to Attitash alpine/water slides/pool area, 3 min walk to Echo Lake swimming/beach and picnic area + gorgeous mountain ledges in the background and 2 minutes to family canoeing and tubing on the Saco or kayaking on Ellis River. Our stay in Maureen's house was great! The house is very clean and close to everything we wanted to do. She is very easy to work with and did everything possible to make our stay enjoyable and hassle-free. We hope to return again soon!

A Great Cabin in a Perfect Location

We just returned from a lovely vacation in the White Mountains thanks to Maureen and Jim. We rented this cabin from them for a week and were pleasantly surprised. They have thought of every detail to make staying there comfortable and relaxing. You cannot beat the location - it is close to the heart of North Conway but off the beaten path for a quiet and relaxing escape. We went on hikes every day without having to drive anywhere - cathedral ledge and echo lake are beautiful. We took our daughter to Storyland which is near by and also to a stable which is right donw the road for a pony ride! We spent many wonderful evenings by the fireplace and made some great meals in the well equipped kitchen. And of course we did plenty of shopping in North Conway! We will definitely make this an annual event and hope to rent this cabin in the coming years. Thank you Maureen!!

Tranquil & Private Indeed...

We have been renting this house for several years from Maureen and Jim. What a location! This house offers the renters access to countless recreational and sightseeing opportunities, while feeling like you are staying in the woods. A perfect getaway spot for a very relaxing vacation. And Maureen and Jim are just gems. They are very accommodating and a pleasure to deal with.

The house itself is wonderful. Absolutely spotless upon arrival, each and every time. Every year when we step through the door, you get the feeling that you are in your own vacation home. My entire family starts talking about our trip to N. Conway months in advance. The house is a very special part of our trip.

The fireplace is simply spectacular. We have spent many evenings over the years sitting around the fire. A very cozy, comfortable atmosphere that can be enjoyed as a family or very romantic for a couple.

All the other amenities are wonder as well. The kitchen, the deck, the bedrooms... You can cook a meal, grill on the deck...you get the feeling you are home there...

Highly recommended to all. You will not be disappointed.

Beautiful, Quiet Location

We've been renting this house for over 10 years from Maureen & Jim and couldn't be happier with all of our experiences. We've stayed in winter, summer, and fall seasons - each has something special to offer. We have so many wonderful memories from staying here. Early on, we rented the house with friends so we could ski as much as we possibly could, now we return to the house with our kids to enjoy it in a much different way!

The house is tucked away in a quiet neighborhood shaded with evergreen trees. Echo Lake and Cathedral and White Horse Ledges are just minutes away on foot. Wonderful hiking opportunites are available and you don't even need to drive to a trailhead! In the winter, Cranmore Mountain is about a 5-minute drive and Attitash is only about a 15-minute drive away, should you want to ski. Restaurants, shops, and other attractions in North Conway are just a 5 to 10-minute drive (depending on where in North Conway you're going).

When we've rented, the house is always immaculate upon arrival. The kitchen is well-stocked with utensils and appliances and even some food staples (spices, etc.). A good stock of firewood has always been available to us as well. Three bedrooms and 1.5 bathrooms offer ample room, but most of your time will likely be spent in the living room/dining room area, which has an open layout and is great for socializing and relaxing. A wraparound deck offers relaxation space outside and is equipped with a grill and BBQ supplies.

Obviously, I can't say enough good things about the house. To top it all off, Maureen & Jim rent it out at such a great rate. You will not be disappointed....
