Delightful describes 'Treetops', an architect-designed cottage on Muscongus Bay, sublimely secluded on 60 private acres of magnificent spruce forested shore land. Gorgeous sunsets over the bay and adjacent islands are yours from the deck and every interior room. Tastefully furnished, the airy cottage sleeps four in two cozy bedrooms. Modern bathroom with stall shower and separate tub. Central heating when needed. Relax and watch the lobster boats at work from the spacious lawn, hike on our private trails through the woodlands and along the shore, bike ride on country roads, or sunbathe and swim on Treetops cottage's own beach. A short walk takes you to the community tennis court or to evening entertainment at the Martin Point Community House. Float and mooring may be available if you bring your boat. Secure on site launch & storage area for kayaks (kayaks for rent in Friendship village, five minutes away, if you don't have your own, and will be delivered directly to our beach)

Easy day trips to Acadia National Park, Todd Wildlife Sanctuary, Monhegan Island, Pemaquid Point, and other area points of interest. Muscongus Bay abounds with islands easily accessible by kayak or small boat for picnicking, exploring, and swimming. Woodland trails through our 60 acre property take you to the shore of tranquil Crystal Pond. Or sunbathe and swim at Treetop cottage's private beach on our sheltered Muscongus Bay cove. A ten minute walk from the cottage gets you to the community tennis court or evening music and games at the Martin Point Community House.

Perfect Maine Cottage

Thank you for our wonderful stay at Treetops. It was even better than we expected. The cottage was perfect for our family of four and included more than everything needed for our stay. The book of information about the cottage and the area was immensely helpful. We are seasoned visitors to Friendship, but we were pleasantly surprised to find wonderful new places to eat and visit based on your suggestions. The hiking trails on the property are truly magical. Our kids loved making fairy houses and exploring the woods. The beach was the perfect launching spot for our kayak and provided fertile ground for our son's treasure hunting expeditions. We plan to visit again next year!

Beautiful Retreat

Me, my wife and my nephew spent a week in Maine at this gorgeous little cottage. It is completely vacation ready with all of the comforts of home. Extremely well maintained and clean. Bob and Judy, have thought of everything. You buy the groceries and you are ready to go. It is a perfect launching point to do day trips. We went to Bangor, Bar Harbor/Acadia Nat'l Park, and Portland while staying there and they were all a comfortable drive. The cottage is well off the beaten path and very peaceful. It was great to go down to the private cottage beach and watch the lobster boats checking their traps. It is truly a hidden gem. I would highly recommend this cottage rental to anyone.

Bob, Our stay at Treetops was pleasant and unique (re the "float" around Muscongus Bay!) Thank you for accommodations far superior to any in our 25 years in Midcoast Maine, an area we choose in which to spend the end of summer, pre-school's re-opening, and Red's birthday. In addition to accommodations this year's weather was the best in 20 years!

Dear Judy and Bob, Thank you for having the vision to establish this remarkable place in the heart of "down home" Maine. We feel so blessed to have discovered, while searching the internet, this Treetops treasure you so thoughtfully built on Martin Point. We wanted something far away from the crowded touristy hub-bub of Boothbay and Bar Harbour, yet not prohibitively remote from good restaurants, galleries, and the Farnsworth.

It was a thoroughly relaxing and restoring two weeks. Thank you for making this bit of heaven on the Maine coast available to us.
