Elegant apartment located in an early twentieth century building, with a charming common scale by architect Magistretti . The apartment is beautiful, large, bright and furnished with old family furniture. The original wooden floors give the home a welcoming atmosphere. The apartment has a large lounge, two bedrooms, a kitchen, a dining area and a bathroom split into two areas. The master bedroom offers a Simmons bed (King size), which guarantees maximum comfort. The house has another privilege: a pleasant garden terrace where it is possible to have breakfast, dinner or relax in total tranquility surrounded by plants that provide absolute privacy. Inside the apartment you can enjoy a rich library, Balbo House is a perfect starting point for visiting Milan.

The apartment is ideal for singles, couples or families (there are 4 beds) and is great either for a holiday or for a business trip. At home you will find two bottles of mineral water and a bottle of Italian wine to welcome you, biscuits, milk and coffee for breakfast and the need for the bathroom. At a very short walking distance there are bars, pharmacies, shops, restaurants and supermarkets that will satisfy all your needs and requirements.

The house and 'very well placed, at fifteen minutes from the Piazza del Duomo and Teatro alla Scala and a few minutes from Navigli, where the nightlife comes alive in clubs and restaurants. A short walk from the university Bocconi, Ravizza Park and Porta Romana Milan Spas, in a residential street away from the noise of the grand boulevards. The nearby public transportation facilities will allow you to easily reach the whole city, including railway stations and the airport of Milan Linate. A few steps from home you can use the citizen service bicycle rental or on a stroll at the heart of the city, with its monuments, its museums, the areas of fashion and design. Balbo House will be a perfect starting point for meeting the various facets of the Made in Italy. A few steps from home bars, pharmacies, shops, restaurants, supermarkets, taxis stop and public transport will allow you to meet all needs and requirements.

Clean, spacious, charming apartment

We stayed at the apartment for 3 nights in January and found it to be just as it is represented in the photographs and description. Unlike some holiday rentals, this apartment feels like a home, and is full of interesting art works, artefacts (an old top hat) and books. You need not go out, you could be quite comfortable relaxing and reading (though most books are in Italian). The heating was efficient and we were warm and comfortable.

The apartment is not right in town, but a 15 minute tram or metro ride will take you there. There is a good supermarket nearby, and plenty of restaurants. The kitchen is well equipped and there is even a separate dining area.

I would recommend this property to anyone, for either a short or long stay.

A perfect base

This apartment is a wonderfully located, stylish and comfortable base from which Milan can be explored aat your leisure. My wife and I spent 8 days here, whilst attending a conference at the Milan Conference Centre. While the metro is very close and efficient, it was the tramway system we most enjoyed using, as it allows you to enjoy the sights and sounds while travelling around Italy's second city. The apartment is within 50 metres of an intersection where 2 tram routes cross - route 14 to the Duomo, and route 9 to the Navigli (in one direction) or Centrale Station (in the other).
Within a short stroll (less than 5 minutes) are 2 supermarkets, pharmacy, bread and pastry shops and many bars and bistros. We would highly recommend Del Oco restaurant in Viale Bligny (~150 metres) for seafood/pasta (as well as takeaway pizzas), and the nearest bistro around the corner in Via Salasco. The private garden terrace is also perfect for breakfast, or meals in.
The apartment is spacious, very comfortably furnished and extremely clean. It lacks nothing, and is well stocked with all the essentials for cooking/eating at home. The bottle of wine offered on arrival was a wonderful touch.Andrea
And it does feel like a home - which is a wonderful feeling when you are travelling for a lengthy period as we were (6 weeks away from Australia). Andrea is a gracious and helpful host, and I would strongly recommend this apartment for any visitor to Milan.
