Photos and Description of the Manche vacation rental Self catering cottage with 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom. Sleeps 6 + Baby

The house, which was built about 1850, mostly from local stone, was later extended and now contains 2 bedrooms, a spacious living room, large kitchen, bathroom and separate W.C. This living accommodation comprises 77 square metres, all on one floor. The property has been thoughtfully modernised, but still retains many traditional French features. The 200 square metre garden faces south and west and is provided with garden furniture (including picnic table) during the summer months. Adjacent fields contain poplar and cider-apple trees, which, together with an abundance of wild flowers attract many birds and butterflies, according to season.

Rural setting in small hamlet, 7 km from the small town of St. James, surrounded by fields and pasture land. Easy access from channel ports (St. Malo, Caen, Cherbourg and Le Havre) and from Dinan and Nantes airports. Avranches 30 mins, Fougeres 20 mins. Local bar and boulengerie at Cogles (2.5km). Boulengerie also at argouges (4.5 km). Good cycling on quiet roads, although there are some quite steep hilly bits.

Attractions: Well known tourist attraction Le Mont St. Michel within 30 minutes drive. Also nearby: reptilarium, aquarium, water park, beaches, parks/gardens, forest with boating lake. Bell foundry at Villedieu les Poelles about 40 minutes drive. Villedieu also has a children-friendly zoo. Bayeux and its tapestry are about an hour away.

Shopping: Local supermarkets and shopping centre 10 minute's drive away. Local bread shops and bars 5 minutes away by car.

Ease of Access: Within easy reach of St. Malo (about 50 minutes by car), Caen(about 2 hours), Cherbourg and Le Havre (both about 3 hours). Local airport is Dinan (St. Malo) (Ryanair from Stanstead) - Nantes (BA from Gatwick) is about 2 hours away.

A truly lovely very well equipped cottage in a peaceful and quiet location. Very clean and well maintained with good facilities for young children and not far from the excellent beaches of the South Western Normandy coast. Our little 5 year old boy loved it. The towns of St James and Avranches are nearby and a short drive away is Mont St Michel. Very helpful English speaking local agent

Highly recommended especially for young families.
