In the village of Pieve a Elici, there is the Romanesque church, is a prestigious architectural complex of the thirteenth century, although the primitive Christian church, according to some scholars, dates to the fourth and fifth centuries. The 'Church of San Pantaleone' harmonious proportions, and built with simplicity, is beautifully situated on the hills above the village. It is the most important of the churches of Versilia and is considered a jewel of Romanesque art. Many activities can be carried out during your stay here: from walking tours in the most famous touristic places like Lido di Camaiore (10km), Viareggio (10), Forte dei Marmi (23), and cities such as Pisa (20) , Lucca (18) and Florence (90). Otherwise you can enjoy fantastic climbing and mountain biking or hiking in the Apuan Alps, or golf, surfing, windsurfing, sailing and fishing in the Tyrrhenian Sea. Pieve a Elici, near the Park of the Apuan Alps and Lake Massaciuccoli, on whose banks he lived, and set to music of his most beautiful works of Giacomo Puccini, is at the center of an area rich in history, culture, good food and fun.
