Relax by the oversized pool, play tennis on the private tennis court, dock your boat at the estate's dock on Roosevelt Channel; or, simply enjoy the Gulf of Mexico beach via the private access. There is a charming guest cottage for the perfect beach hideaway. The main house and cottage are decorated beautifully with the finest island style furnishings. Perfect for family reunions, corporate meetings, wedding, tennis gatherings or a romantic get away. Sandhurst was featured on HGTV'S Dream Vacation Homes and in Martha Stewart Living Magazine. Sandhurst is situated on over 1 acre of lush, tropical grounds, with magnificent views of the bay to the east and magnificent sunsets to the west. We have a private, exclusive, gated access to the Gulf of Mexico beach that is right across from our driveway entrance.

Our world famous shelling beaches are right in your front yard! We have a private, gated beach access to the beach. The shelling is magnificent! You can catch fish off of our private dock, see starfish meandering about on the sandy bottom, and watch Osprey's eat their latest catch on the dock pylons. Flocks of Ibis regularly march across our back lawn, nibbling away, a sole flamingo makes an occasional guest appearance, and of course, we have lizards, geckos, birds and bunnies galore. The J.N. 'Ding' Darling Wildlife Sanctuary is a short bicycle ride away; you can canoe or kayak the back bay waters, deep sea/fly/saltwater fishing is available as well. Bike our 26 miles of bike paths, shop at our island galleries, dine in our fine restaurants, or pop in to the Hermit Crab Races! There is so much of 'nothing' to do, it's overwhelming!

  • Unlike other island properties, Sandhurst is the only estate to offer private bedroom suites for couples. Other than the Turtle Nest, our bedrooms are meant for no more than 2 persons to occupy, offering complete privacy and the opportunity to recharge your soul. Along that same theme of restfulness,with the exception of the Master Suite, televisions are NOT provided in any of the guest suites. Our guests frequently comment how refreshing it is to not have family members lock themselves away in a room to watch television for a week! Televisions are also found in the Family Room and the downstairs Media Room, encouraging family viewing. Peacock Alley and Frette embroidered bathrobes are provided in each bedroom for every guest, along with hairdryers and iPod clock radios. We are blessed to be able to share our home with so many families that have been able to reconnect with one another and create new traditions and memories to last a lifetime.

Notes: Sandhurst is the only rental home that features a true Chef's Kitchen, featuring a double-oven Viking range with griddle, 64 cu.ft. Turbo Air refrigeration System, Viking Refrigerator/Freezer, Scotsman icemaker, U-line Wine Captiain, 2 U-line bar refrigerators, and every pot or pan imaginable for quantity cooking. All spices and seasonings are provided, along with coffee filters, paper towels, cloth & paper napkins, trash bags, foil, saran, etc. The dining room seats 20 comfortably, and is the only island home where your family can dine together at one table. We provide a fully-loaded iPod with a Sony stereo receiver for your use and enjoyment. Enjoy tropical steel drum bands, Jimmy Buffet, Frank Sinatra, classic rock, jazz, Classical and Holiday tunes. The receiver has its own iPod input, so you can play your own music at Sandhurst.
