If you prefer to fly then the airports of La Rochelle, Poitiers, Limoges, Tours and Bordeaux, are just a short distance away. Everything in the house is provided from egg cups to pool towels so you dont need to pay for excess luggage.

The local town hosts a twice weekly open air market, as well as a covered market with fresh fish and local produce in abundance. It also has resturants and local shops, which are supplemented by two well stocked supermarkets.
If you wish to travel a little further then the beautiful town of Cognac is a short drive away, there you can go on one of the many tours to see and taste how the world famous brandy is made.
Also close by is the town of Saintes whose roman history has left a host of remains to explore.
The magnificant Charente river winds its way through both of these towns. Slightly further afield is the atlantic coast, providing a range of wild and tranquil beaches, with the waterfront towns of La Rochelle, Rochefort, and Royan providing a host of experiences for every taste.
If you wish to take a day away then Futuroscope Park or Bordeaux are both worth a visit using the easily accessable A10 motorway.
