Deer Isle and Dow Road Waterfront Cottage

We have rented Stan's cabin for 2 years in a row. It is on the water and the paddling is great. Also good area for biking. The island is beautiful and locals are very used to tourists but not over them/us, and are quite friendly. Not a remote and rustic get-a-way, more of an "urban influences meet New England coast rural sensibilities".
This is our entry in Stan's guest log, and speaks best to our experiences at DRWC:
Another glorious week in your wonderful cottage! This, our second stay, felt like coming home. We spent less time going out and exploring the island, and more time just hanging out together here. That said, we did make it to Haystack for the studio walk-throughs, where we also happened to watch a pod of dolphins slowly making their way across Western Cove. Visited the local galleries, ate at the Whale's Rib, bought zucchini bread across the street - all by foot, which we love. Also went into Stonington by way of the farmer's market. Thank you Stan for your attentiveness and your relaxed wit. And thank you for welcoming us into this wonderful little haven.

Owner's Response: Hi, I am the property owner and would like to clarify who would be most comfortable in The Dow Road Waterfront cottage. Couples of any age are ideal. One or two children can be accommodated but I would not recommend teenagers. It is definitely a romantic getaway,
perfect for Honeymoons ( mention for discounted rate).
I also think a car is required unless you plan to arrive and leave by kayak. Stan
